  1. "Kadeem Harris reveals he has fled Ukraine for safety in heartfelt statement - Mirror Online" https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/kadeem-harris-reveals-fled-ukraine-26345840.amp We all agree he wasn't our finest ever player but I'm still glad to see he's OK. Please let it all end soon.

  10. Just let people use them eh? They've shelled out so what if they get a bonus of 2 games. Some will definitely get caught out. Come on Wednesday

  12. How and why? I'm of the opinion that I've got nowt to hide and I'm not sneaking owt in so it's no skin off my nose. If searching people stops idiots sneaking flares etc in then that benefits everyone as it means they don't chuck em about. The plankton that are causing problems at our games are giving us all a bad name. I hate that as a football fan I'm looked at as scum by the police and society. Any other sector of society that was treated like we are there would be uproar. I've come to realise though that it's up to us decent fans to weed out the ones who give us a bad name. That's why I don't mind the searches and the bans for breaking the rules. The quicker these fools are gone the better football will be for me.

  13. Ive got a really good long term memory, but short term its nowhere near as good, I can recall tons of 60s matches and incidents, like Eustace sticking two fingers up at the linesman infront of the north stand v.Burnley in 1967, just over the halfway line, it was a disputed throw in, I can still see him now, and how I could smell the linament on their legs. odd, old age its no joke is it!

  14. It was David Ford, made his debut in the 1965–66 season against Sunderland on 23 October, coming off the bench to become the first ever substitute used by Wednesday in a League match and I was at the game.

  15. I think people forget what an absolute mess the club was in when Moore took over. Points deductions, players not being played, rock bottom morale. I think he's done a fantastic job to turn things around in a relevatively short space of time. Deserves a huge amount of credit in my opinion.

  16. I'm not still entirely convinced by his tactical acumen and it does seem like he has happened on our best side and best formation, but he's a good bloke and his heart is in the right place and off the pitch he seems to be doing the right things. Plus there seems to be unity in the squad and that's not easy to forge so well done DM

  18. Apologies if already discussed…….. Sunday’s footy banter in Southey club brought an interesting fact to the table re 1/2 ST’s …….. They’re not valid for either tomorrow’s game v Burton or the upcoming Accrington match as both are pre 2022 fixtures now rearranged! Hope no one gets caught out!

  19. Good evening. Does anyone think it’s time we relocated the away fans? Wouldn’t it be better if they were on the the last third of the north fir atmosphere wise? Hillsborough’s atmosphere has slumped for years. I think having them there would create the home atmosphere to get going and also it would fill up the rest of the other stands with the home relocating to either the kop or south. Shut off the west stand and only use that for when we have big crowds. Be easier to police aswel for only the away fans would use leppings lane entrance. Of course the only thing what would cost is to have a wall built in the concourse but that wouldn’t cost much. Thoughts?

  20. Well, he's losing again. They've been utter crap. Adam Reach doing his Invisible Man act again. Turns out he does it when he gets paid on time too. Who knew...

  21. Some of you on here know me as Bakewell Owl, some of you know me personally. Lived all over the country mainly due to work, the only thing that is constant is friendship, love and Wednesday, all of them have existed longer than my marriages (although the current one is still going strong) last year I spent over six months in hospital, this year my best mate, and serial best man for over 50 years has ended up in hospital, he has had a piece of bowl removed longer in centimetres than any of our unbeaten runs. Just got back to Bakewell and phoned him in the Northern General, bear in mind its the first time I have had to report to him how the match went, he was always there with us. Season tickets since the 70s, been together to weird places like Herford and Aldershot (you try and get drunk on a Tuesday night in Gillingham and then get back to Chapeltown). between us we now get more excited about new heart valves, warfarin and tubes than beer, music and Doc Marten's. So today, first time my son and wife have drunk more than Mark and myself at a match, first time we have talked football, followed by a discussion on Weetabix, although I think we always talked about Nurses Uniforms. So I have dedicated todays win to Mark from Chapeltown, can't wait to get to a match with him. and have a beer. The promotion we won in 1979 was nothing to do with wining at Exeter, its the fact that Mark carried a jar of jam he took from a services on the A1 on the way to Southend as a good luck charm, we didn't lose again all season that's the real reason, that and big Jack. Cant wait for him to come back, please wish him and Christine and his kids, all Wednesdayites well. be back soon big man.

  22. Last summer, many of us were worried about the prospect of successive relegations, as we had a skeleton squad whose morale appeared to be at rock bottom, and were only able to recruit freebies and loans to try and strengthen it. Unlike the likes of Rotherham and Wycombe, who some have compared us to, we crash-landed in League One with an almighty bump, and turning us around in such circumstances was never going to be an easy task. For some reason, some of our fans seem to expect us to have been challenging for the top two all season, regardless of our many injury crises. But if we make the playoffs, then this will be our best season immediately following relegation to this level, and Moore will deserve a lot of credit for that.

  27. I’m glad he’s got himself out of there. It’s going to be very messy for a long period of time IMO. I know loads of Ukrainian blokes through work (quite a few who are out there now). They are a very tough and proud people in my experience and they will fight for every millimetre of land against invaders as much as we would here. As soon as I saw it kick off I knew Putins expectation that the Ukrainians would roll over would be sorely disappointed.

  29. As close to Lee as you’ll probably get. As in both are very classy players. Byers has a bit more bite in him where as Lee had the natural instinct to find space in the box.

  30. Think this has been said before. He brings balance to the force. Luongo and Bannan we're good before, but with Byers in the side they both have more freedom to do their thing. It's not just the physical side, Byers is clearly an intelligent player. I was gutted when KL left, I think we might have found his successor.

  32. There seems to be an elephant in the room here (no, not Chansiri`s), We have a 23-year-old lad in charge of the pitch. Whilst I appreciate the lad is doing his best under difficult circumstances, and it appears a maintenance plan hasn't been in place, it just shows you where we are at as a club.

  33. Threads I never thought I'd read number 69. I'm conflicted on this one. Part of me knows that throwing stuff on the pitch is wrong. I know that a dildo launched from the back of tbe stand could fall short of the pitch and hit someone, causing injury. But there's another part of me that really really wants to see thousands of dildos rain down from the stands on 69 minutes.

  37. It's absolute madness that Johnson doesn't take set plays, best crosser in the squad by a country mile. Sometimes being a true leader is knowing when to pass on some responsibility, take note Baz.

  38. No irony really - you are slating the head groundsman on social media without actually knowing his credentials. That is a out of order to be fair

  39. Yes. I wondered why, because when he did play, he kept Bannan from dropping in too deep, and the ball moving forwards, not sideways or backwards.
