  1. Sigh. So people who choose not to have a jab should effectively lose their ability to work (but still get paid in Wednesday's case)? Vaccine rates have flattened, the younger you go the less likely to have had the jab with an exception at one range. There's literally millions (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58806500) of people who have chosen not to have it. They could be serving your coffee, or scanning your items at the supermarket, or teaching your children, or fuelling up your petrol station, or sat next to you right now. Aye, the guy in the glasses, him! Stay indoors for a year if you want to avoid millions of unvaccinated people, or alternatively respect their right (yes, right) to make their own choices and be happy in the knowledge that you're vaccinated so are safe. You are safe. You are safe People in this country and elsewhere have lost the plot over covid. Yours, a double vaccinated person who believes people can decide for themselves what's right for them without the social pile on. Oh and Klopp is an idiot if he thinks 99% of his players have had the jab.

  5. Newcastle fans may not like Ashley but he has kept them in the premier league, when they did get relegated he bought promotion with silly levels of investment. I would be more than happy to have a bottom half premier league team as Sheffield Wednesday, we would also have a club shop that had stuff in we wanted to buy and made money. DC approach to running a football club is a complete joke, a his latest idea which is to not run the club that why we keep falling and falling down the leagues with DC in charge we will still fall further this club is but no way bottomed out yet.

  6. I was at a game and good the ref and a fan behind me said ‘why boo him, him won’t make him change his mind’. So I said, ‘fair enough pal, let’s cheer him and see what happens’. So we did. And it didn’t help. So I now boo him. Because it makes me feel better.

  8. Klopp's analogy is nonsense. It is nothing like drink driving. You can't force people to take things, and even though I have had both vaccines, I can see why some people won't. If the rumour of only 50% of PL players being fully vaccinated is true now then there isn't much else they can do to change their minds. Unless of course, they go extreme like the NBA and say they can't play, but I am not legally sure they can do that.

  9. Possibly not at the price DC would probably be asking though.

  10. Do you think that SWFC players and club should make a stand and all be double vaccinated. Any players refusing should not be picked. I personally think footballers are high profile and in the media should be setting an example for everyone else to follow. I personally think these players refusing the jabs and being public about it are being extremely selfish and un wise. Getting vaccinated is important for everyone and clubs should realise they have a responsibility in the local community to show that these rumours are in true and lies. Footballers not getting jab are giving more weight to the rumours and ultimately will give other people in the general public an excuse to not be vaccinated. Why are some footballers not bright enough to realise this and why can't they understand that the vaccination is about protecting everyone not just themselves. Jurgen klopp was right in my eyes when he said refusing the jabs sh be viewed the same as drink driving. Do you agree or does anyone else think q anon will be tracking you after the jabs or what ever else Facebook fake news is currently making up about the jabs.

  15. Mike Ashley is already planning to buy an EFL club once a £300m takeover at Newcastle United goes through. A ‘source close to Ashley’ has informed them that he’s NOT been put off from football despite his failed stint at St James’ Park, stating he’d “love” to invest in a Football League club with a ‘sound fanbase and potential to grow’. £300m

  17. This for me. Don't really understand what Newcastle fans expected with him. Hes overall done well and not able to afford/compete the level of investment to take them to the European spots. I would happily take Newcastle's position with Ashley in charge. Newcastle fans just think their bigger than mid-table.

  24. I wonder how Newcastle fans would react to 21 years outside the Premier League, with 3 separate stints in League One during that time and an appearance at the High Court with an hour on the clock to be wound up by the HMRC. There's a lot of context to football "suffering", but nobody could ever convince me Mike Ashley's tenure at Newcastle is anything other than a huge upgrade to what we have now in every single way. Personally I'm not looking up at Newcastle, with their consistent Premier League appearances since we dropped out - aside from two seasons when they won the Championship at a canter - and thinking "that looks awful, don't want Ashley here".

  26. Got to be Derby. His entire model is based on picking up distressed companies on the cheap, sometimes out of administration. He's not going to spend what Chansiri wants when he can do a deal with administrators who'll just want to sell at a reasonable price without any emotion involved.

  29. It’s a bit early yet, but if things don’t improve what does everyone think to Darren Moore becoming Director of Football instead of manager. He has a good relationship with the Chairman, he is well connected with other clubs to help get good players in (on the cheap) and is good at getting players to sign. However, he seems to lack tactical knowledge when organising the first team. Therefore, he would be brilliant as a D. of F. but working with a more tactically astute manager.

  34. It’s frustrating to see people tweet images like this then the minute they get taken over it’s all dancing in the streets and celebrating. Football needs to get a grip, fans are just too fickle. What’s the point anymore? What is there to achieve if you’re not bankrolled with unlimited money? Part of me wishes they did make the super league a closed shop and give us back the game we enjoyed. As far as Newcastle fans go some of them are already unbearable on social media giving it the ‘no club deserves it more than us’ line. I hope it goes balls up myself.

  39. Ashley is a ruthless businessman. He wants to buy things he can make money on. So for him to come here he would have to be able to buy us for a reasonable price. Our value is rock bottom right now. But no doubt the asking price wouldn’t be rock bottom. So no deal will happen unless Chansiri has literally given up. Which based on the transfer activity this year just doesn’t seem to be the case.

  42. Don't think it would work. I think he wants to manage. I'd prefer a clean break now, take any emotion out of it and attempt to get someone in who might give us a chance of promotion this season. I think he's already proved he's not going to be that man.
