  2. Been down to the ground this morning to sort the away season ticket but had to come away as queues for new season tickets which went on sale today are currently snaking all the way round the car park & down to the north stand. According to the security guy it’s been like this since before the ticket office opened at 10am. Unlike renewals this is all new money coming into the club & has to be good news! I think we may be pleasantly surprised by our home crowds next season!

  3. After many years of trying, we have finally managed to bag some seats in the North on the half way line. Moved from block P to pretty much halfway. It took an hour and 15 minutes to get through to the ticket office, but once in the staff were brilliant at sorting this in just a few minutes. So a massive thankyou to Catherine in the ticket office today. It also sounds like a lot of fans are having a go at the staff in there. Well lets all remember they are fans too, and they are just doing their job. So be nice and be kind to them. If they can't process your refund, or give you the response you want, remember it's not their fault is it.

  8. A suggestion. With a new season upon us - and as Owlstalk is the BIGGEST, BUSIEST & BEST SWFC forum there is - how about running a monthly thread where fans can nominate a member of the clubs staff for a Monthly prize - SWFC Employee of the Month. The club has some absolutely amazing staff, full and part time, some well known, some hidden gems. And as its easy to get into negatives on here when talking about the players and leadership - it might be nice for Owlstalk contributors to highlight stories every month of people who have gone above and beyond their roles to be great amassadors for the club? And then create a poll at the end of the month for the top 5 for example - with the winner receiving a £50 Amazon voucher contributed to by Owlstalkers? I'd be happy to supply the first £50 voucher for it - for the winner of the inaugural SWFC Employee of the Month Award for August What do you think?

  9. His form dipped last season as the club imploded around him, but overall Börner was a decent player for us, especially on a free. Plus, he celebrated a goal-line clearance like he'd just scored in a cup final...

  15. Just asking but are we excluding anyone that works in “accounts” or are we taking the view that they deserve something more akin to the George Cross.

  18. I think we could have done with a few more options on the answers personally some were difficult to answer as they’re not very important or not very important. maybe a “meh” category would be good

  20. Its mad how we are scrapping around for 128k when we were spending £16M on Rhodes, Abdi and Jones.

  21. Interesting because he's never struck me as having an attitude problem either. Not every player with a stop-start career in their youth is due to application or attitude. Sometimes that's just the way it goes. On paper, being (an assumed) guaranteed starter with a club like us at League One level is about as close to being handed a chance on a plate to kick start his career as possible. I like him and think he could be a difference maker for us. Hopefully he stays fit and puts some form together. Everybody should be hoping for the same too, because if this self sustainable club structure that everybody wants is to work then it's players exactly like Green that we need to be hoping are successful.

  23. Stick with what we've got, and put it towards a striker. I've total confidence in the defence. None up front.

  29. Yes, Ive often found that sitting on a half empty Kop in January in freezing cold conditions with rain teeming down watching a team of overpaid crap struggling to overcome the might of Burton Albion or Yeovil Town gives me just the escape I need from the drudgery of my existence

  32. If he can reach peak fitness and stay there you'd expect him to be one of the better players in this division. Been stop start since he arrived though. Fingers crossed.

  33. He needs to contribute with a few goals and assists it that simple

  34. When this guy was at Leeds he made errors that would keep Owlstalk moving for a month. Why people think Burnleys 3rd choice keeper is worth a 300k loan fee I really don't get.

  35. No, we are not going to be pushing for promotion, nor will we be near the bottom so a waste of money.. Move on..

  36. Nixon says West Brom interested in Adam Reach. Which is odd. Why would a promotion-seeking huge budget Club want a player who doesn’t tackle strongly enough? Maybe they think goals, assists and the fitness to play 44 x 90 mins are more important.

  37. Don't want to derail this thread but i've just seen the post above about Kivo and his last message in the refund thread. I've got £110 on my balance for the 20/21 season. Basically I get my S/T and my mrs's. She was a student during the 20/21 season but isn't now, so her season ticket is dearer. Mine is cheaper than it was originally due to the relegation. So I have balance remaining on mine that I can't use to pay for hers. If anyone is in touch with Kivo, i'd like to transfer the £110 to him to hopefully either help towards a S/T for him, or for him to use to pay for a couple of matches. I doubt the club would let me transfer the balance to his card but I'd be more than happy to transfer the cash to him and I'll just use the balance on my card for cup games myself, or over priced tat in the store.

  43. I’d be more worried if 2-3 teams in league 1 were also making lots of good signings, as it stands Ipswich look strong but there’s still 2 promotion places up for grabs. A striker and a GK and our starting line up is a match for anyone, including Ipswich.

  46. I have quite a few Villa mates from work/England matches & to a man the desperately want him to succeed with us. He made a massive impact when he first broke into their first team squad & reached almost legendary status when he headed the last minute equaliser against the pigs when Villa came back from 3 down a few seasons ago. Consensus is he's no Billy Bigbollox but a thoroughly good guy who deserves a bit of luck!

  47. Ordinarily a club being self sufficient is sensible but we are talking about an owner here who has left key decisions at the club to his kid. Carlos Carvalhal himself said that Att Chansiri had the final say on his appointment as manager! Being self sufficient would be difficult in the current climate with Milan Mandaric at the helm, with Dejphon Chansiri it’ll be a disaster. I get the whole being excited about the new season talk but fans need to look at the bigger picture here. Under this clown we’ve suffered our first ever points deduction (which resulted in our relegation), we have been placed under multiply embargo’s, we have seen thousands of fans priced out of attending matches and we no longer own Hillsborough. Fans carrying on handing over their hard earned cash to this guy will be taken as a green light for him to carry on regardless. I don’t want to stop watching Wednesday, I’ve been attending matches since 1992 but I cannot just sit back and watch while this idiot runs our club into the ground. We have gone backwards as a club on his watch and spent millions doing it, do you really trust this guy to run us in a self sustainable manner??

  48. The majority of clubs who get promoted to the PL don’t have an “issue” with FFP. There are plenty of clubs who’ve never received a parachute payment who still managed to get promoted without an “issue” with FFP. I’ve never been concerned about a lack of ambition, it’s lack of competence at the top that has held us back.

  49. I don't understand him at all. Basically he's having a go at EFL and fans. He states if we want to get to the Prem that he HAS to break the rules. Which is BS. He also states that if we are run sustainably we won't be able to get promoted which is BS. How can you be so unsustainable and call it 'risk'. It's actually severe mismanagement thats setting us back years. But yes he's learning now. Oh and apparently the cashflow of the club matters now even though as customers our money didn't used to mean anything.
