  1. Chansiri do yourself but most importantly do the fans a favour - just f@@k off and take the useless bunch of inept so called advisers and useless players with you. Never understood how such a complete bunch of cretins have been allowed to take over such a historic club and basically drive it into the dust. If you don’t understand anything about football you should never be allowed near a club.

  2. "Oh, you're back" "Sir" "Well I don't know why you've bothered really. We're doomed. Doomed!" "Mr Hargreaves has given me an extension to my contract ,Sir" "Aye! And what a burden that will be when we're a 3rd division forum . A millstone it'll be. Crippling us!!" "We're not in the 3rd division yet though ,Sir" "Mores the pity. I can't take any more of this. Did you see QPR and Swansea?" "A couple more nails in the coffin, I must admit ,Sir" "A few more! I mean, just how many nails can it bloody well take!" "Quite a few by the looks of it Sir" "Good God. It's like one of those nightmares where you know you're having a nightmare but you can't wake up anyway. It just goes on and on. Never ending torment!" "Bristol aren't in the best of shape at the moment either though, Sir" "No, no they're not. But what does that mean when you're playing the Wednesday, eh? Nothing. Nada. Nothing at all. Clubs have injured players crawling from their sick beds when they know they've got us next up! There'll be chaps on crutches begging their managers for a start to get their confidence up!" "A slight exaggeration ,Sir" "Well... I've had enough. It's all false dawns. False optimism. You see the Cardiff game and you think 'Ho! What! A chance, a glimmer' , and then before the euphoria has worn off we're crashing down again." "City, 'Boro, Rovers, Forest and Derby. All winnable games, Sir. As bad as it's been. Rotherham beat Derby 3-0. Wycombe beat Blackburn. Surely Wednesday can. IT's not over until-" "Don't mention the fat lady. She sang last week." "All I'm saying is, don't write them off just yet sir, there's plenty of points still to fight for" "Fight for?! Fight for?! These haven't got any fight in them" "Well actually, Sir, apparently there was a bit of a set-to in the dressing room just the other night. So there's some fight in there." "Super! Any chance we might see a bit of it on the pitch or are they allergic to grass!" "All I'm saying is, a few good results and it could go to the wire. Win at Derby on the last day to stay up. Just think, Sir. What a story that would be" "Oh, it'd be some story all right. We haven't won there since Sweyn Forkbeard was on the throne!" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WEDNESDAY V's BRISTOL CITY Apr 17, 2021 Kick Off: 12.30pm Hillsborough Stadium With just five games remaining Wednesday are left needing miracles. Sat in a run of only two wins in the last 13 matches, keeping just one clean sheet in the process. Tuesday night's 2-0 home defeat to Swansea City was our 22nd in the Championship this season...speaks it's own tale. Bristol City ended a club-record run of six successive home defeats with a goalless draw at home to Nottingham Forest last weekend. The Robins were fortunate to come away with a point after failing to have a single shot on target and only 37% possession, in contrast to Forest, who had 16 shots on goal and dominated for large spells of the match. You know the drill... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wednesday are unbeaten in their last five home matches against the Robins, winning four of those games and keeping a clean sheet in each of their last three. Bristol City beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 on home soil in September and another victory on Saturday would see them secure their first league double against them since the 2007-08 season under former boss Gary Johnson. ------------------- Wednesday ------------------ Wednesday might change the deckchairs. But, the trumpet is parping. The hull is breaching. Man the lifeboats. Callum Paterson could return to the first XI at the expense of Liam Shaw. The fun loving Scotsman is one of the only Wednesday players who's scored goals with any regularity this year. Dunkley may replace Tom Lees at the heart if defence. ------------------- Bristol City ------------------ Bristol City have a number of first team players injured, with striker Sam Bell the latest to join the likes of Alfie Mawson, Callum O'Dowda, Chris Martin and Liam Walsh on the treatment table. Famara Diedhiou has begun two of the last three matches on the bench, but could be handed a start in attack ahead of Nakhi Wells. Sam Pearson started his first senior game for the Robins last weekend and may keep his place in the first XI. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Get Well soon Darren Moore Wishing the boss a quick and full recovery ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  4. Smith,s comment, it affected us them going down to 10 men. WTF, can't imagine any other manager in the EFL using the excuse that they've had an extra man for well over an hour as part of the reason for another abject failure. Unbelievable!

  6. I thought today and previous games, he has played well. He does his job, breaks up play and let others then take over. Not saying he’s a world beater or the next N’Golo Kanté. I think the criticism he gets is well over the top in my opinion

  13. I feel sorry for the guy. You can tell he desperately wants to do well, but he’s just so far off the pace it’s embarrassing. Outside of the fouls there were so many times we had a bit of momentum and the ball gets to JP and he freaks out if he can’t see Bannan And he invariably makes Jack difference defensively I hope to god we don’t offer him another deal.

  15. I caught a bit of an interview with the Barnsley CEO Dane Murphy tonight. The American chap. Crikey, there's a man with a plan. A well thought out one too, that he's only to keen to share with the club supporters. Total transparency. He explained their operating model, how it's relative to the size of the club. How it's relative to where the club is in the football pecking order as well as where the club is geographically. The importance of knowing the support and the community they come from. The importance of player turnover whilst still building around a core, of scouting the type of players to fit both the team and the business model. How they didn't want to lose Brown last year but the sale helped them strengthen other areas. An adopted American but he spoke with a real verve and passion for the club, and made a lot of common sense points about how he's running things. I admit to feeling rather jealous of Barnsley having this on the ball forward thinking young man involved in their club.

  16. This summer needs to be like the summer where Turner signed a whole new squad. I don't just say that because of the contract situation, it's necessary regardless. There is a cancer in the squad that needs removing and a whole new squad and attitude introduced. Just like when we got relegated with Turner, low numbers of new players just seem to come in and be infected with the same issues and attitude. Good players who perform before and after Hillsborough is a symptom of deep rooted problems at the training ground and in the dressing room. The only cure is a total revamp of the squad and coaching staff. The summer Turner cleared out, we finally broke the loser and disjoined attitude. A whole new squad came in and eventually rose to the challenge under Sturrock. Beyond those due to leave anyway, we should also seek opportunities to remove others. The inability to manage a lead. The blind panic when the clock hits 85 minutes. The view that once behind, the game is done. A new set of personalities are required and I'm happy for Moore to have a go at finding them. It's time for a total reset and hopefully, a new mentality. P.S I accept with Moore's current state, an analogy about diseases and such isn't the most tasteful but for over two decades it's felt like players get infected by something at Hillsborough which needs gutting out

  17. Normally I'd exonerate DM as he's walked into the nightmare that is Sheffield Wednesday but he's barely bettering Pulis. The tactic of what almost looked like settling for a 1-0 today as we fell deeper into our half and playing against 10 men for about 65-70 minutes is inexcusable. Yeah I know it was his assistant on the line but they work as a team. Not good enough.

  18. At home in a must win game where draw equals defeat. We are 1:0 up and player up, and what we do... We set to play 70 minutes with 3 central defenders to mark their lone and isolated striker and with out & out defensive midfielder infront of them. It was stupid, cowardly and negative approach that ultimately cost us. Instead of trying to score more goals and finish Bristol City off, we banked that we won't make a mistake, bad decision or that one of their players won't have moment of brilliance (like happened so many times this season) and cost us points. We brought this on us and we deserved it, today I blame management team even more than I blame players on the pitch. In any case, load of cowards and bottlers all of them.

  20. We've done the same under Monk, Pulis, Thompson, and Moore. I don't think it's an instruction from the managers as much as it's the players on the pitch retreating into their shells. In those moments, we need experienced pros such as Lees, Börner, Bannan, Reach, Rhodes and Hutchinson to grab a hold of the team and make the whole lot step further up the pitch. Unfortunately, I don't think we have an effective leader between the lot of them.

  30. When we've had men sent off the excuse is "well, the sending off affected us and it was difficult". When they have a man sent off the excuse is "well, the sending off affected us more than them and it was difficult" Absurd, ridiculous thing to say (twice). It's just common sense that it's better to play 68 minutes with an extra man. He could have just said "yes, we should have made the extra man count, we should have took our chances and we should have scored the penalty". We need to try harder.

The story of all stories about the season Wednesday stayed up when the world was against us is nearly complete. The final chapter has been opened. Mark my words. Sheffield Wednesday are staying up. 43. I don't rate him. That's my opinion and games like today show why. He rarely scores (even if it's a penalty). His set pieces are poor (even from 12 yards). He is often caught out of position. Offers little when we are out of possession and there are far better players who would be on less money out there. You obviously like him and that's your opinion but the league table doesn't lie and he plays in the key position in a team.

  44. Hate is such a strong word but I’m really starting to hate the guy. Clueless, stubborn, arrogant.... just a few words I’d use to describe the clown currently running our club and if he doesn’t p**s off (taking that idiot advisor of his with him), I have a bad feeling that things will get a lot worse before they get better.

  45. Not defending him one bit. But if he takes your advice tonight and says foook it I’m done, turn the money off. What happens next. I’m curious as to what you think will happen?

  46. Today is the perfect example of why Bannan is overrated. Poor penalty, then facing ten men he still hasn't really controlled the game. He has a good game every ten games or so. He only looks good cos the rest are basically useless. Constantly having a go at his team mates too. Truly good midfielders pick teams apart when given the chance. I drives me nuts how one footed he is too.
