  1. Alex Miller: Let’s park the football.. Sheffield Wednesday may have saved a life this week | The Star In all the tension wrapped up in following Sheffield Wednesday these days, it’s perhaps important to remember that Bill Shankly was emphatically wrong. Because in a week that saw Sheffield Wednesday’s Championship safety hopes take back-to-back hits, the wider Owls community stepped up to do something truly incredible. Message by message, piece by piece, it may well be that over the last few days Sheffield Wednesday saved a life. Sid Gavrielides is a 41-year-old ha

  3. I doubt Cardiff will sign Rhodes if they get promoted Also you just know Chansiri is sat thinking it’s all these manager’s fault for not wanting a 3 month contract. But in the next media session he will say: “I offer them very good contract to manage club (for 3 months), but they do want to manage Wednesday. They are strange. Maybe we are not a big club or the negative fans scare them away”

  4. No matter how this season ends up I’d like to give a big shout and a thumbs up to Callum Paterson who for me has been one of the positives of this season I love him I think he’s been a great addition and always gives his best

Do yourselves a huge favour Call a family member or close friend TONIGHT and get them to call over to your house at the earliest convenience And get them to help you disable your internet banking Because it's only a matter of time before some con man empties you of your life savings as a result of your gullibility

  6. Yet play him up front with a player like Paterson, get wingers to cross the ball into him that he can run onto and he scored goals just fine

  7. McCarthy would/will never ever play Rhodes on his own up front as a target man like we do

  8. He won’t as I’ll kick him square in the nuts.

  9. Forest were floundering. Got in Houghton, who we wanted, and are now doing much better. Bristol City were floundering. Got in Pearson, who we wanted, and are now doing much better. Cardiff were floundering. Got in McCarthy, who a few wanted, and are now doing much better. We wanted Cook. I suspect he will go to Ipswich and do well with them. Meanwhile we continue to flounder and Chansiri does nothing. I'm now resigned to relegation but we need someone in quickly to start rebuilding for the future. He is leaving us to rot and it breaks my heart.

  11. The time to act was late December / early January. Thompson did well to pick up some wins against the odds and in spite of some poor performances, but to leave our survival in his hands was both negligent and unfair to him. That we're still discussing this when it's March next week tells you all you need to know about Chansiri's attitude towards our club right now.

  12. "Sheffield United thought Brewster was the answer". Which is true if the question was "can you name a worse striker than McBurnie"

  13. Funny isn’t it how a vastly experienced Championship manager who has taken his side from the lower reaches of the division to the brink of the playoffs wants to sign a striker off of us who is deemed not good enough to get into our first team.

  14. This is the big problem now isn't it? The badge The name on the shirt The name in the stand The attitude that he's right and everyone else is stupid. He's made the club feel like Chansiri FC and therefore it's becoming difficult to support the club and not feel like you're also supporting everything that's been wrong. Seeing people saying they won't spend another penny at the club. I'm sure many won't follow through with it long term, but this time, if we're relegated, I think thousands will. Do I think there's a way back for Chans

  15. SWFC Trust: "Welcome Dejphon, thank you for agreeing to address our questions. We believe this is a step in the right direction for you, the club, and most importantly the fans. So thank you!" Chansiri: Of course! From the day I purchased the club I promised to always have open and honest conversation with the fans SWFC Trust: "Excellent! So firstly, when will you publish your strategy to save our club?" Chansiri: Soon SWFC Trust: "Erm, OK, and when will you publish the 18/19 accounts?" Chansiri: Soon SWFC Trust: "Alright, and lastly, when

  18. Perhaps a more pertinent and reasonable question to an expect an answer to right now is when will the club provide any update on the position of first team manager? How often do clubs go for 2 months during a season without a manager without making any sort of statement on what he happening, even if it is just to clarify the position of the caretaker? Never mind a club in a relegation battle in dire need of some leadership. Its not fair on Thompson to just have him sailing the ship from one game to the next with no certainty.

  24. The forward who scored their third was a handful too. Only cost 250k. Looked strong, quick and not afraid to take his man on. What are our scouts doing? He looks a steal, meanwhile we lumber ourselves with the likes of Paterson, Kachunga and Marriott.

  25. 'Meanwhile, Wednesday’s owner Dejphon Chansiri has put off potential new managers by offering a contract that only lasts for the season. Chansiri fears the financial impact of relegation.' You know what 's increased our chances of relegation? Failing to hire a manager and coaching team with more than half the season remaining and instead hoping our U23s coach can keep pulling rabbits out of the hat. If managers don't want to join a club in our position without the security of a longer contract, that's entirely understandable. Our situation isn't compara

  31. Quite hilarious that we've tried to play him as a replacement for Hooper when he was injured (Rhodes cant link play like that) And as a lone target man like Fletcher (when he isnt a lone target man like that) We spent £10m on a striker who operates best with a target man next to him, yet rarely even bothered to do it. Can see why we're where we are can't you?

  32. If true, I'm glad we didn't get McCarthy. No manager should be wanting Rhodes at this level if they want to be competitive.

  33. With the COVID restrictions now is not the time. We do as a fan base need to do something though when we are able to and I don’t just mean a handful of people under the South Stand after a match. As a fan base we have been far far too passive in the past, no way would the pig fans or Leeds fans put up with the crap Chansiri is doing to the club if this were happening at their clubs. It needs to be properly organised. Possibly a mass boycott of the opening match of the season, a series of projectors around the ground (like Leeds did) or a plane with a banner

  35. And ..thats what we do...ridicule Owls fans with a different view...and thats the sole reason WEdnesday fans couldn't run this f.ookin' club...Seen it with almost every organisation we have had haven't we? Fans have different breaking points...Give 'em time..and FFS! remember the Owls fan that sits next to you...might disagree with you..but He's an Owls fan...that makes you the f.ookn' same!

  36. It’s odd isn’t it. I mean if Chansiri is sole owner and has been here 6 years, he isn’t going to be happy with how things are. Surely one of the things he’d think is that the advice he’s received hasn’t been good In normal circumstances that would mean you look to make a clean break and get new advisors or use a different structure. Doesn’t need to be anything malicious you just would try something different The fact that this guy is still here is weird

  37. Why would he publish a strategy to save our club? that isn't a normal thing to do for a club Maybe they should re-think and do 2 for DC instead

Decided that if Chansiri is still here next year we’re out This season has gone way past gross incompetence Saddles the club with a points deduction Keeps faith with Monk who should have gone after Brentford away last March Hires him a completely new coaching staff Sacks him 10 games in Hires Pulis then sacks him 10 games in Players not being paid Signs only 2 players in January when we are desperate for strikers, one of
