  1. Great use of capitals and exclusion of question mark here! Ever considered a career in online marketing? Your clickbait skills are on point!

  2. Hi everyone, I was wondering if I'd be able to get your thoughts on my full-scale replica of Hillsborough that I spent 5 and a half months working on between March 9th and August 31st this year. It has several interior areas and is the tenth stadium I've done as part of a 24 build project. The video I have attached showcases the stadium along with commentary from me going into some of the history. Cheers

  3. He has a point, your title reads as a statement of information, you should have ended with a question mark so we didn't have to waste our time reading a thread that was another question without an answer.

  4. Whilst I admire the Brentford approach and would love us to be able to do it here, it’s not just our chairman and scouting team that needs to change but us as fans too. We have higher expectations than the fans at Brentford and demand instant success. They have the luxury of buying players that are rough diamonds and expediting their development by playing them. We on the other hand, even when playing players that are young and with potential to develop, all too often bemoan that young player or the manager for picking him. I’m sure no one in 2017 thought Ollie Watkin would be a star striker being sold for tens of millions, which is why they played him on the wing for first two seasons before he got a regular run upfront this year. You don’t have to search back to far on here to see how us as fans don’t seem to like the idea of attacking midfielders or wingers playing upfront. Or take Da Cruz or Dawson as example. Players that seemingly have the attributes but need polishing yet they are deemed to not be of quality now so we must get better immediately. The point is, Brentford not only offer better scouting and foresight but also harvest a culture that allows for these players to develop rather than singing for the youngsters to be replaced by older aging players.

  6. Chansiri has destroyed our reputation amongst the business community so badly that no viable firm will want their name on our shirts or want to take an executive box. Chansiri it is again then.....fake sponsorships of this type should not be allowed. D Taxis and Elev8 are other imagined entities just make us look like a laughing stock. Another example of DC's chicanery dragging us down again. The sooner this bloke is out of S6 the better.

  9. 46 games a season! He’s only played over 30 games a season twice in the last 14 years so he isn’t getting anywhere near 46 games. Also his record for assists is pretty poor, mainly because he would always rather shoot than play anybody else in.

  11. Massimo Luongo has been chatting to Yorkshire Live about some of the things Chey Dunkley has already been doing at the club.. "You can already tell he is a bit of a leader figure," the Australian international told Yorkshire Live. "He could be really important for us this season. "I think his experience will be invaluable for us. "Even if we have a team meeting, Chey speaks to a lot of the young lads individually and collectively. It's important that we have that older group who will talk to the younger ones and lead by example. "We have to take the responsibility off them so they can just show what they have got. 12. I saw this yesterday and thought it interesting to read what someone else was saying about the EFL. I know we have topics on this subject already - and maybe this thread is in the wrong section - but I thought I would put it here so that others could see it, if they haven't already. In short, Mark Jenkins completely disagreed with the TV deal offered to the Championship clubs, believes there is a conflict of interest having board members on the EFL who represent member clubs, believes that clubs should be able to spend what they want, and disagrees with Salary Caps. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54046448

  16. People don't seem to realize that though Brentford have an entirely enviable set-up (far, far superior to ours), it's not as though they're signing players overlooked and unrated by others. They're often paying a lot of money now for the talent they're bringing in. If we'd have brought a 19 year old Rico Henry in for 1.5 million from (then) League One Walsall we'd have immediately been impressed with him because he was already a very good player, and much better than even Pudil was at the time. If you honestly think the Brentford fans must have some special depth of tolerance to watch the kind of players Brentford have been consistently bringing in for more than five years now, then I can only think it's because you don't realize that those players are already far more than mere unpolished diamonds before they've even kicked a competitive ball for them. Our fans aren't the problem and never have been. Some will probably only ever grumble and moan, and others will only ever be positively supportive (to a fault), and there'll be the greatest many occupying varying positions between. Some have moaned about loads of our better players initially. From Sterland and Hirst, to Brunt and Whelan, and it didn't stop any of them from having excellent careers. They were good players, of course, but it was at Wednesday that they first had the platform on which to develop. The reality though is that we've really not had many young players coming through down the years. And I can't immediately think of many examples of young players that were essentially ‘booed’ out of Hillsborough only to make it big elsewhere - and really, you'd expect that to have happened a lot if our fans are such a detriment to the development of younger players.

  17. Those are the rewards you can achieve by investing in younger talent Had we done that, instead of spaffing all that money on Fletcher, Rhodes and Winnall, we might have been in a similar position The only time we even tried to venture down that path, was when we signed Joao, and no surprise that he returned us a decent profit, whereas we’ll be giving the others away. However, yes it is ridiculous money though

  18. £500k On a 20 goals season striker you’re having a laugh. Do you honestly believe we are not trying our hardest to get in the right players? Supporters or fans depending on how you look at, follow their clubs through thick and thin and we need the fans to get behind the club as much as possible this season. While everyone has opinions, your constant negativity/ slagging off of the club, chairman, manager, players is quite frankly nauseating. FFS give it a rest.

  21. If you've paid for a service/product and it isnt delivered you are entitled to a refund. As it stands I've paid to be in the ground for our home games. If that isnt going to happen I want an immediate refund pro rata to the undelivered product. I could appreciate last seasons problems. This is different. The silence is unacceptable.

  22. Dunkley and Windass 100% had other offers, and I’d say there’s also no way Izzy Brown wouldn’t have had several offers at this level So, I think your wrong

  26. “Kache will be ready for next week,” Monk said. “I just felt with him he’s only just come through the door. “He’d been with us for 48 hours or so, whereas Josh Windass had the advantage that he already knows how we work. “I didn’t want to put him in a position where he didn’t fully know what’s what. But he’ll have a good week’s training, he’s fully fit and ready. He will be ready for Saturday.” Chey Dunkley is another who has made a strong impression since arriving at Hillsborough earlier in the window and the Owls manager revealed the centre back is not far away from full fitness. “In terms of Chey, he’s not far away. I’ve said it before, I knew when he was coming here, he was going to be a little bit behind the others but he is working hard, progressing every day. “The same goes for Osaze, so hopefully we’ll get to that first game or just after with a fully fit squad. “There were no injuries in the Walsall game so that’s a positive, a good workout and most importantly a win.”

  27. I don't understand why people seem intent on diminishing what Brentford have been doing. Here's a post from a few weeks ago that highlights not only where they have been so successful (certainly in monetary terms, if not yet league status) but also more starkly only underlines how pitiful our dealings have been by comparison. You can now add to that impressive list... Ollie Watkins - cost £1.8 million - sold for £28 million (potentially rising to £33 million)

  32. Wonder how far back you'd have to go for us to have raised £33m in transfers combined? Good job we're showing the likes of Brentford how to do business isn't it?

  33. Villa signing Ollie Watkins for £33m. But according to our chairman Brentford have no ambition.

  35. It’s kinda annoying tbh. It’s another case of the fans coming last. People could do with the extra cash. A normal refund takes 7 working days, not 3 months. But the club is happy to go and spend money on players. It’s not as if chansiri os skint. He could personally refund us himself.

  36. I find some of the sneering at Brentford slightly churlish. There are only 3 promotion places available and no matter what your approach, no guarantee of success. They are punching well above their weight and giving themselves the best chance of not only getting to the Premier League (which would be a remarkable achievement for them in itself) but building foundations that have the potential for some long term sustainability at a higher level than they might reasonably expect. By contrast, a lot of clubs seemingly better placed are doing neither of those things.

  39. We have missed a leader on the pitch and a defensive organiser since Loovens left. Venancio was a short term fix and was alright but we need one of our own.Hopefully we now have one. Hope he becomes our captain.

  40. We have had little evidence so far this season to go on, but against Leicester and Walsall , especially the former , we missed chances that Nuhiu would have finished. He is a good finisher, and also an excellent penalty taker. He is also a stranger to the treatment table, unlike most players we bring into the club. could we do better? yes. But we start the season this week and we haven’t done better. Get the deal done and get the big mans tracksuit back out of the oxfam shop.

  42. What I like about Palmer, is that he keeps learning, adding new things to his game, even at this stage of career. Not many would have thought he’d have been a regular choice for his national side.

  43. So instead of losing £20-25m a season we will be only losing £10-15m a season. We are maxing out the losses because of the lack of other income, that none fan income, player sales - none of them as they all left on frees, advertising - none of that DC scared them all off. We don't have anything to bring players in and clearly DC is wanting to do it on the cheap, while charging us £40 a game to watch it.

  44. Everyman and his dog said we needed a clear out and cut the ridiculous wage bill ....that they go to clubs who are in better financial position is there good fortune but doesnt alter the fact that we had to do what we did otherwise we would never get the right side of FFP.

  46. I don't really care about whatever it is Derby were charged with, or their guilt or innocence. It is simply ludicrous that the Championship is 'governed' in this way. The EFL is not capable of what it needs to be capable of, it should be replaced with an independent regulator.
