  1. He was really asking for this.....

  2. There are no reasons to back Monk. The man makes lukhay look competent

  3. He doesn't suffer big heads, malingerers and ego's. I know results after the restart were poor, but it looked like a team busting a gut for each other. He has the chance to get his own players in and start to shape the team as he wants. Let's give him his chance.

  4. Macclesfield could well fold. Superb work from the EFL on this - they must be so proud of themselves. In the meantime, they look idly on without doing a single thing about the biggest source of inequality throughout the football league which are the parachute payments. The consequences of them spiral all the way down to the conference. They behave as though these payments don't even exist, or at least, aren't anything to do with them. And then they have the gall to talk about the ‘integrity of the competition’. I've really grown to despise them over these last 5 years or so.

  7. So, applying that logic we have a chance of refreshing our squad by breaking their legs. Worth a shot!!

  8. If swfc have to start their season with a Carabao cup tie, I'd treat it as just another "pre season" game, because I couldn't care less about that competition this coming season, it's all about getting a decent start in the league, right it off. Just my two penneth like.

  9. Bothroyd. Thought he was a pr.ick before he came. Turns out he was an even bigger bell than I could possibly have imagined

  10. If we're only on 0 by a quarter of the way through thats only about 1 point per game right? Which would leave us on about 34 points come the end. Not sure thats enough.

  11. Football is so broken that we have been deducted 12 points (and a ruined season because of it) due to the club owner spending money that he has in abundance

  12. He is in charge, no one else is or will be. If you cant back your manager then what sort of supporter are you . New season, lets see where he takes us before we get sharpening the knives.

  14. A similar one for me was Prutton. He played for Leeds so was obviously a tw*t...then it turned out he was a really nice bloke and a decent footballer, too. I still enjoy listening to him as a pundit.

  15. That actually makes me more concerned. First 3 games decent then similar train wreck we saw following that

  16. Remember when football was enjoyable and actually worth following? When it was decided on the pitch rather than a series of board/courtrooms. The game is an absolute mess and unfortunately, you can only see it getting worse as more clubs struggle and inevitably a few more disappear altogether.

  17. Given the state of the game and the EFL's attitude, by 2022 all teams will have been relegated to the Conference!

  18. Would be good for the club to have a refresh in coaching set up

  19. The FACTS are. ( Using your own benchmark ) As you say FACTS he is the worst manager we have had in many years.

  21. Be a great signing, come on Wednesday - get it sorted. Ps. Who is he?

  22. Stupid mistake letting him go in my opinion. He ain't going to score 20 a season, but will always chip in with 10. But his effort, commitment and presence ComIng off the bench frightens the life out of defenders. There is no one else like him in this league.

  23. It's easy for the EFL to pick on little teams like Macclesfield and Bury who don't have the money to fight back, but they havnt got the balls to stand up to the premier league and tell them they will not accept failure payments in the championship.

  24. Monk won 2 games in the 2nd half of the season, I have zero faith in him what so ever. At a well run club he would have been sacked months ago.

  25. Apart from the fact he is the manager of Sheffield Wednesday of course. and it’s the first pre season he’s had.. ..and he’s managed to clear out the dead wood to a degree and he will hopefully be bringing in players that he can work with and ( hopefully) his own back room team. you’re a bit glass half empty aren’t you?

  26. Comparing Nuhiu and Bergkamp I've heard it all now. I know my post stated goals scored which you have picked up on, but as you like facts and have widened the scope to include a guy that was an intelligent creator of goals foot teammates, could you answer the widened questions that I've asked? How many goals was Bergkamp prevalent in creating compared to Nuhiu? Arsenal fans didn't have a melt down because Bergkamp was used to create, how many goals has Nuhiu created for others? Why was Bergkamp picked to play from the start in the majority of Arsenal games by 'top' managers, yet Nuhiu doesn't start in a far weakened team picked by average managers? How many of Nuhiu's goals have come from the penalty spot, not created by him, he just had a free shot at goal? How many goals have we conceded towards the end of the game when Nuhiu is brought on to hold up the play in the opposition half? How many needless freekicks does the bumbling fool give away when he comes on in the final 10 minutes? You seem to think that I think we have had great strikers at the club 'other' than Nuhiu, which is incorrect - they have all been dire with awful records. The last decent striker we had was in the Hirst, Bright, Warhurst, Watson, era possibly the Maclean era but that was in a lower league. Of the scoring figures you have stated, he is 5th best, above a Portuguese guy that was injured for almost 2.5 years, and a guy that was a rash buy that spent the majority of his time on loan elsewhere. You've basically answered your own question, he is the 5th worst striker at the club, from a bunch of non-prolific strikers - that's not that good is it, or do you think it is?

  30. Sorry, but is this supposed to be a positive sign? Surely it would be more accurately worded as "If this trend continues SWFC won't be out of the minus points until it's a quarter of the way through". As others have said, this form over a season with the -12 will see us relegated by a distance.

  32. How many Wednesday games have you been to in the last few years? I find it hard to believe reading your posts that you’ve been to many, or if you have you’ve blinded yourself of Nuhiu. Or are you one of those that leaves at 75 minutes every game no matter the score? When Nuhiu is brought on near the end of a game, he creates havoc and is a nightmare for defenders, and I think he’s technically a much better footballer than what you’re making out. He creates chances for us and runs past defenders. By all means he’s never been good enough to be a starter for us, but bringing him on for the last 20 minutes when defenders are tiring, we will miss that.

  34. Nope. We are a dying club until we get a proper owner.

  35. Firstly, centred in our city? Really? They're absolutely obsessed with trying to get one over on us aren't they? Proper pathetic that. Secondly, all that pink kit is missing is a row of teats on the front and a curly tail at the back.

  38. Are you seriously putting this forward as a positive? An average of 13.2 points from 10 games when starting a season as manager of a club - from a manager whose teams have a tendency to have a downturn in the 2nd half of a season, if he makes it that far. Overwhelming stuff!

  39. Why not sing ..”Oh oh oh Sammy “million miles song ...after ..high ho silver lining ..at every home game next season when crowds return??...Big pic of Sammy on the scoreboard??...Be unique to us ......Would go a long way to uniting the fan base again ...especially 50/60 year olds like me ....young uns can carry it on into future seasons .......Make it happen !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  40. Surely it would make sense just to cancel the Carabao cup next season? All clubs consider it a distraction, and there’s going to be enough congestion.

  41. Can think of plenty who got dogs abuse playing for us then went elsewhere!

  42. he has only scored 10 in two out of 7 seasons, one when he that great run at the end of the season he had one season where he didn't score otherwise its 5 or 7 goals he has had his use to us but lets not go overboard about what he has achieved
