  1. I have been on here many years but never been ITK with stuff. However, today is the day after nearly a decade on Owlstalk that I join the highly esteemed likes of The Bizzle, Big Guns, Penguin and John Bloodaxe in being truly ITK. One of my friends (not an Owl) works at another Championship club and a guy who he knows from university currently works for us (I won't say the role but it is with the first team and U23). They met last week and got talking about Wednesday as he knows my family are all supporters and season ticket holders. This is what he passed on to me, some of it is very obvious stuff we can all guess, but some other things might be surprising. - The first team were told that a points deduction is inevitable and is imminent (although DC is still committed to appealing it). He had heard 12 points was what had been mentioned to the first team and he does think this has really affected the performances etc - DC wants out and has hardly spent any time at the club this season. He is also quite widely disliked by staff there - If we do manage to stay up after a points deduction he doesn't believe DC will be spending much on big signings again - Monk is apparently liked by the players and staff (surprising) and the way he speaks seems to indicate he plans to be here long term and use a new younger side - Westwood and Hutch have been pushed out after falling out with Monk. Apparently they both aren't that well - liked behind the scenes, especially with the newer players. He also described one of them as not a nice character - There are some divisions within the dressing room - Fletcher is a legend and everyone loves him - Rhodes was due to sign for Celtic on transfer deadline day on loan but DC requested a ridiculous loan fee that Celtic didn't want to pay - Monk has been told he can bring in his own backroom staff and wants a big turnover in the current playing squad in the summer - In his opinion as an employee and not a supporter, the club massively lacks leadership and direction and it seems that things are just plodding along without any real aims. Just a sort of, 'let's hope we get promoted' without having any real plan. This stems from DC - He has no idea why we haven't got a Chief Exec or an equivalent to run the day to day things at the club, especially seeing as DC is rarely ever at the club nowadays Most it seems pretty plausible and nothing too groundbreaking. Enjoy .

  2. Good OP and totally inline with everything I've heard too, especially the bit about employee's disliking DC. Last week I worked for a guy I've known for years - great bloke, diehard Wednesday fan and in charge of selling executive boxes at the club, a job he'd done since the PL days. He left three weeks after Chansiri arrived so no new ITK info, but he left as DC was basically telling him how to do his job, while doubling the cost of the boxes. Reckons he did well to last three weeks - about 30 left around the same time. He's now at another local EFL club and loving it. Can remember telling this story around the time it happened and being met with 'he's dragging us into the 21st century' etc. Five years on and there are STILL people supportive of his record. Absolutely bonkers.

  3. Without a deduction we'd be fine. With a deduction, I wouldn't back this lot in a scrap.

  4. If true, and I have no reason to doubt it, the fact the players’ performances have dropped after hearing of the points deduction speaks volumes about them. Other teams have rallied in such a situation, even Brum under Monk. Just adds to my belief we have a set of spineless mercenaries.

  5. Very good OP. In Georgian/Victoria England, the less able younger sons of rich families tended to go into the church, where they could do no harm, and live off the fat of a rectory. The otherwise unemployable members of plutocratic Thai families get to play with football clubs. The Rhodes story - utterly plausible - is on its own proof that Delphon Chansiri is a moron.

  7. The only thing that bothers me is the points deduction affecting the players. I can see how it could be disheartening for the players.... we got up to 3rd even though we didn’t play amazingly well but there were some good performances thrown in. But do they really care so little for the club and the supporters? Why don’t they play with the attitude and character so that if a points deduction does come that at least the club will be safe? Why don’t they show that they want to be here, even if their contracts are up at the end of the season? Do they want to leave so badly? This is why it feels like only the supporters care and we’re the ones paying heavily for it in the heart and the pocket.

  8. If the points deduction is true and with the month we have coming up fixture-wise then it looks very much like League One football next season - not bad for PL prices. Well done Mr Chansiri, well done indeed!

  9. The 22nd March is a Sunday this year. I know this as it's my birthday and it's already ruined as it's Mother's day and I'll have to spend it with my mother and mother in law. Throw in a points deduction and it's going to be the worst birthday ever!

  10. If we are due a 12 points deduction then lets just have it so we know where we stand. That can at least be some sort of catalyst for the fans and players to unite and try and get enough points to stay up. Sometimes the fear of a punishment coming is worse and more damaging than the actual punishment itself.

  11. I wondered if the points deduction stuff was the catalyst for the bad run. Obviously the question then is when did the players find out? Was it at Stoke with 6 minutes to go? Cos this bad run started with that match. They stood up and beat Leeds, probably cos even the players hate Leeds and they managed to beat a shockingly poor Charlton side. During that game we saw glimpses of togetherness and spirit. The players should have upped their game to ensure a points deduction didn't cost us a playoff place. 12 points could easily be the spread between 3rd and 6th. If that's the reason for our horrific run then they're more spineless than I thought. Orlando has been on here years. I'd say he has nothing to gain by making stuff up. His mates mate may have but everything he says either rings true/makes sense or is stuff people have been saying for a while now. I'm slowly accepting the fact that I'm gonna have a very expensive league 1 season ticket.

  12. So basically we need DC to get the hell out of our club ASAP.

  17. A large % of the squad won’t be here next season for a variety of reasons, and they’ve known that for a while. They’ve downed tools. Agents will have moves lined up for the summer, and they won’t want to get injured. It’s as simple as that imo.

  19. Whilst walking around Greenwich Market today (yes, I live in the Dirty South these days) I came across this. Nice stall holder, bloke called Richard, does football stuff. Bought this card. Going to frame it, put it up somewhere in the house. https://footballcartoonhistories.co.uk/collections/football-cartoon-histories/products/sheffield-wednesday-1 can order online also.

  20. Spare us the self righteousness. Our fans have put up with 20 years of utter poo . This season we have been utterly woeful at home despite paying some of the highest prices in the league. Instead of slagging the support off why don't you direct your sanctimony at the people who have let our supporters down big time.

  21. My thoughts exactly Ronnie...At least it would engender some sort of seige mentality that the players and supporters could rally around... The fans would give the players more slack, the players would know exactly where they are stood, what needs to be done and get on with it. If only DC would get on board and slash POTG, I doubt season ticket holders would mind, Getting a few thousand more in , howling the club on in fear of relegation. It wouldn't bother me if they let everyone in for a fiver...Theres a danger here that goes beyond finance, or DC's stubborness

  23. Bad advice or not, he's been here 5 years and the club is a shambles. At what point does he decide to recruit experienced football people who actually know what they are doing. He's an absolute disaster.

  25. Those two mistakes epitomise what was wrong in the first half. No one had desire to have the ball, no one runs to space to receive it, no one busts a gut to get on end of it. Look at Windass second half, he was everywhere in search of the ball. Too many of our ‘stars’ are hiding at the moment.

  26. Good for you and thank you for posting that, the majority of things on there are things I know from people at the club, I’ve posted about them previously without saying I’m ITK because I couldn’t be bothered with the grief on here, fair play to you, the points deduction one is something I was ridiculed for, I think people need to realise how badly the club is run and the trouble the club is in .

  29. I guess Monk's first move then should be handing the captain's armband to Fletcher and sitting down together to sort the mess at first team level. After Saturday's performance, Monk has the perfect opportunity to do just that.

  32. They used to play tongue in cheek songs a few years ago but don't seem to have done it lately. I remember Frankie Simek getting sent off late on against Wolves, and it ended up costing us the game as we were winning at that stage but drew 2-2 after an injury time equaliser. The DJ played "American Idiot"

  37. I don't really understand anybody taking the p*** out of people for going. Or even worse - urging them not to go. Ive chosen not to go as Im absolutely sick of watching us at the moment. But I'd never have a go at someone whos chosen to go. Fair play. It just means their tolerance levels are better than mine.

  41. Not exactly sure that's such a big achievement, still ended in abject failure (and his tenure hamstrung the club for years following in view of recruitment, player conditioning and culture) I bet Big Ron would be a bit aggrieved having won a cup and actual promotion to the top league. I'd also put Sturrock above Carlos if judging on play offs only, he actually won his one.

  42. Change tends to come from the top and that will only occur when DC sells up. ..there is no discernible leadership/direction at the club and hasn't been for a long time which largely accounts for our current predicament.

  46. Well done to those behind it. A lot of people moan but these guys have gone and booked a venue and set up a website. Graphics look professional too. I’ll be backing them because right now the supporters have zero voice on the shambolic way DC is running this club into the ground.
