Progression

Recommended Posts

Looking at some of our rivals start to the season and it got me thinking about how much progress we have made?

Our team is basically the same team which lost to Hull in the disappointing play-off final. Looking around at other teams recruitement, they have all improved their playing staff, either by selling of assets then re-spending the money on players (Derby). Or spending new money from new investors (Wolves). Are we expecting too much from this team? Can a team be together too long and become stale?

No, apparently everyone loves a settled team...

Not in the immediate future... but hopefully if they fail then in the long term it will cause problems with fines and an embargo.

Looks like wolves have rolled the dice.. Will the gamble pay off or will the wheels fall off? Who knows?.

What we do know is Chansiri wants to play the game the right way.. which for us may seem frustrating. But what we also know is Chansiri is here for the long term so yes it's annoying seeing teams buying players Willy nilly, what we can hope is it might take us abit longer to get to the premiership but Chansiri won't be happy until we are. So let's just think that fingers crossed within the coming season we will eventually cross the finish line.

PSG !

Neymar wasn't bought just by PSG, the Qatari royal family has paid most of it and are using him as an ambassador for Qatar for when the world cup arrives. Technically PSG don't own Neymar. Its a loophole but it's wrong

Some teams aren't under the same restrictions and besides, funds don't gaurantee success but arguably they may increase your chances of success. Anyway,  is it plausible to expect progress year upon year, especially when your opponents are doing their damnedest to stop you?

We haven't sold any of our assets for a start that doesn't help with the FFP situation.

According to Carlos another 2/3 players should be arriving before the transfer deadline that should freshen things up.

With the squad we have a top 6 finish is still achievable, top 2 maybe a step too far.

Anyway roll on tonight, a decent win would be a real tonic.

Seems unlikely that a team in France will fall foul of the English Football League FFP rules.

They won't I believe its euro wide isn't it.....?
