Done-plaster Rovers vs Wedesday: The Goals

Recommended Posts

Just got back. Gotta say, Atdhe had about five or six moments of proper class. Matias also looked more effective than he has done for a while. Reach solid again in his brief cameo, Abdi had his moments. FF looked keen to score but seemed to get frustrated easily. Fox got a lot of use going forward again, just want him to get a bit more confident when backtracking 'cos he still tends to act like everyone else's understudy at times.

Main issue for me was we still looked scared to have a crack from about 70% of our good shooting positions. Hope it was just that they were all trying to set one another up rather than have a pop themselves! Decent performance though on the whole, never really got out of second gear and should have won by a couple more really. Doncaster were very decent down the channels, good workout for the fullbacks tonight.

Love how angry Westwood was to concede the goal.  It's only a friendly but he went nuts!   Love it!!

Happy with Palmer as back up to Hunt, but seriously, what was he doing for the Rovers goal? The guy with the ball had two men on him, so Palmer thought he'd wander over and make it three, only to leave his own man in absolute acres to put the ball into a dangerous area.

These are the opportunities that squad players have to take to push for a place in the starting 11 and basic stuff like that from Palmer won't help him one bit.

What balls from Wallace and Bannan for the goals though!

As Hooper controlled the ball on the line, before tapping it in, I feared his season was over. Half expected their defender to go right through him Steve Bould style. So relieved their defender was an honest pro.

How did he not absolutely welly that on the volley from one yard out. I'd have done it. And probably gone down in football history as the worst miss of all time.
