Etchesketch
Should give a specialist centre back like O'Grady or Thorniley a chance rather than Pudil. It must be so deflating for them to see players played out of position rather than themelves. Better to play a youngster for his League debut at the start of the season rather than the end when the pressure may be on for promotion lets say. Groundhopping Owl
Happy for him to be a back up but if we really are running low on centre backs come opening day (a situation you've got to hope we can avoid) I'd possibly rather see O'Grady start and see what potential he has. Hack-Abusi
although i don't mind Pudil and think he could do a job at centre back, i'd be more heavily disappointed in the fact that we haven't seeked to resolve an issue thats we 've had for a few seasons now. Last year we ended up resigning Sasso on a 1 year deal, who, again did a decent job when called upon. But its been a bit embarrassing this season in relation to transfers
Holmowl
As a 4th choice behind Hutch, Loovens and Lees, in utter desperation CB Pudil once or twice a season would be ok. But nothing more. If we do start the season without another CB coming in, we must not play Hutch in midfield. We would need to nurse our 3 fit CBs very carefully through to January. Derby signed Curtis Davies, a fantastic defender, for next to nothing. It's getting to the stage now where we're desperate, it doesn't matter what Carlos says, and clubs know this and will take the mickey fee wise. We need to get Mulgrew signed up and then make one last push for a top quality CH. I'd be going all out for the lad at Brentford because he's the real deal but granted, he will cost a bomb. The feedback from portugal seemed to largely be "nope, a way off being reach for the championship". Just from the highlights, I'd tend to agree. There's some poor positioning, so ball watching, letting their man go and they don't look strong enough in the air (similar to pudil in that respect). Guest samowl
Oh dear. 9 days to kick off. And Carlos still not addressed a problem we've had for quite a while i.e. A decent CB to push for a place and push Lees and Loovens.

He's got to start somewhere It's the old catch 22 Carlos doesn't like playing youngsters preferring old heads, but if you don't give your up and coming kids a run in the first team then how do you know if they can cut it there?? It's alright saying loan them out to league 1 sides but as the pigs are probably going to find out the championship is a completely different ball game from down their. We don't give them a chance and we'll lose the stobbs, o'gradys, Hirsts, penny's etc to other clubs and we'll be left wishing what could have been.
