MOwl
Getting a 12 month contract extension. Good/bad?
DesWalker
Good, but only if he's 4th choice back up
Lee A
Lees New CB Loovens Sasso Absolutely fine with Sasso staying, but we have to get another one in aswell.
gurujuan
I would imagine he'd be 5th choice, but wouldn't be unhappy to see him sign
cookeh
Good. He's a capable deputy and seems to have a good attitude. We need to sign a new 1st choice centerback, but we need to at least keep the depth we have, if not add to it.
Groundhopping Owl
Source? I'm fine with it if true, he's a good solid back up. I'm not filled with horror when he deputises for one of our centre backs, like I was with Martin Taylor or Llera at the end of his time with us. owlZfan84
Well worth a 12 month contract IMO. At the moment, he's our best ball-playing centre half.
daveyboy66
Good... I was impressed the way he brings the ball out of defence and goes forward for 20 yards...puts other teams on the back foot straight away...will only get better... a good addition to the squad
offalyowl
Fine by me and actually think he a good player and gets a lot of stick on here that he does deserve, yea he can make mistakes but which player hasn't ever done that
full fathom five
Not a fan of Sasso, I like my defenders to be able to defend first.
MrEdwards
He's barely put a foot wrong all season. Good at finding a ball to feet and not scared to bring the ball out himself. Everyone says of 4th choice etc. But I don't know who we are going to sign that is better. If we do, then great I want whoever is the best player we have in that position on the pitch. But I don't think there is much better out there. I think Sasso, despite limited game time has performed fantastically and I'd be happy if we start with him at CB next season. Really don't want Hanley. He's ok with his back to goal where he can head and kick everything. On small pitches he'll be fine. but.... Hillsborough is a big pitch and when he's turned he is useless. Also he's not a footballing centre half and neither is Lees so I think we'll be better off looking for one of them.
Guest wilyfox
Has done better than I expected, but still surprised. Thought the hunt would be on for a quality CB signing.
modboy
wasn't keen on him but did well when he deputised this season. 4th choice at best though please
camffiti
We'd struggle to do better, for a 4th choice CB
WC1Owl
One rush of blood aside, more than did his job this season. A no-brainer.

Some of that is true, but I can remember thinking the same about Shane Duffy, when Brighton signed him. In truth, he was an excellent signing and was perhaps the catalyst for their automatic promotion At some point, I can see Hutchinson moving into the back four, and someone like Hanley would be his ideal partner. Hanley, Loovens, Lees, Hutchinson and Sasso, would give us wonderful centre back options then find a midfield ball winner, who can play, to replace Hutchinson
WalthamOwl
He is a good back up to have, scored a couple of goals which is always helpful but made a mistake or 2 that cost us goals. Hopefully we will bring someone else in that will be first choice to partner Lees but Sasso on the bench is decent.

We'll be after another Depends where Carlos plans to deploy Hutchinson. A year ago, the decision was CB. That changed due to lightweight midfield. Have to wait and see if that changes again. Could well be Lees, Loovens, Hutch, and Sasso again.
