Anyone giving Hunt more than 4 needs to give their head a shake.

I would have wanted to give it to the defence as a whole.  Good performance but not pretty to watch.  It's what was needed.  Now we will beat them.

Westwood 7 - did what was needed whenever the ball came his way

 

Hunt 5 - strong first half but that awful touch when he was played in the box was a costly mistake, not as good in the second and got a daft yellow card

Lees 7 - dealt with everything, strong in the air, didn't let Wells in behind him

Loovens 7 - see above

Pudil 7 - I voted him MOTM but it could have been the centre halves too. Kept his flank secure and forced Huddersfield to channel their attacks predictably through the middle with some really solid defending.

 

Wallace 5 - barely touched the ball and had no one to give it too when he did

Bannan 5 - good defending, some crucial blocks and interceptions, but was sat far too deep to have any offensive presence

Lee 5 - see above 

Reach 4 - bar the one long shot in the second half he was very ineffectual

 

Forestieri 4 - marked out of the game by Huddersfield

Fletcher 4 - too static and didn't trouble the Huddersfield centre halves at all. His hold up play suffered from nobody being close enough for him to give the ball to

Jack Hunt has a tough job, I thought he was the most attacking player we had for the first 60 mins. Huddersfield know it too and try to take advantage of it. I thought he did well defensively for that first 60mins, there were a few errors but he was trying to cover back from an attacking position. Who covers for Jack if he's out of position? Hunt or Lees for MOTM

Lees was superb today, tonight bannan didn't do too bad and winnall had a good impact coming on 

thought pudil struggled to get into the game

Seeing FF completely marked out of the game today definitely seems to be calling for a Rhodes start on Wednesday. Hooper was a BIG miss, there was no link up play whatsoever

How bad was jones when he came on, was absolutely hopeless.

Was impressed with Jones when he came on. Made the necessary fouls, played some important passes and made some key interceptions.

Don't want to go on about Bannan again and he was far from our worst player today. However when we are not on top he offers nothing in the middle-he is an easy target in headers and 50/50 balls. He just isn't built for it at all.

 

Hopefully we are more on the front foot in the second leg and it won't be as much of an issue.

It was between Lees and Westwood for me.

Rest of team were OK but a few errors from most that we got away with.

Notable mention for wee Bazza today. Had a decent finish after a slow start.
