So One Place Left

Recommended Posts

That's Newcastle joining Brighton.

Crazy to think the 3rd place won't be sorted for over a month yet.

Dreaming that the caption at the bottom of the screens on 29th May will read....

"Sheffield Wednesday are promoted to PL"

At one time I thought we might have put pressure on the top 2 to get auto ourselves. Losing at Brighton left us with no chance of that. Good luck to Brighton they deserve the promotion. Newcastle have gone straight back up as everyone expected. Good side but we outplayed them home and away.

OK we will do it the hard way, it just adds to the excitement. I don't think anyone will fancy playing us but it's still a lottery, a couple of injuries at the wrong time can mean the difference between promotion or not.

if Reading lose both their games they could drop from 3rd to 7th.

The points are so close that one slip could be fatal for any of the 5 teams.

After the heartbreaking final we had last year, it'd be amazing to right it this time.

Plus the big 150 !!!

Plus it would wee wee on the pigs celebrations !!!

Plus Chansiri promised it in 2 years

lol

Shame Newcastle got 2nd place, if they were in the playoffs we'd have been quite confident facing them in the final or semi's...

So you're ideal opponent for us over two legs out of all the possibilities would have been Newcastle.

Given the relative performances we've had against all the top seven this season it's hard to disagree with him really...

We could have battered them at St. James' with the chances we created, and we really should have battered them at home. A fair reflection of both games could have easily been along the lines of 5-1 to us on aggregate.
