Derby match Is huge

Recommended Posts

I can't help but feel that Saturday is being played down slightly amongst us with talk of the Fulham match already.

Saturday is absolutely MASSIVE.

- If we win on Saturday then we definitely get in the play offs if we beat Fulham, regardless of all other results.

- If we win on Saturday there will be an excellent chance of being safe in the play offs before the last match. This was a big advantage last season. We could rest key players and give Lee 90 minutes to get match sharp.

- If we win on Saturday we will either go above Huddersfield or increase the gap on Fulham

- Should we lose on Saturday we could be in a position where unless we winin Ipswich we are out of it by the final match.

To guarantee the play offs all we need to do is buy enough tickets to get the crowd above 30,000. The last 17 matches at Hillsborough with 30,000+ in attendance:- (we have scored the last 14 goals when over 30,000 in attendance!)

Ipswich is a really difficult game, the most difficult of the three, so we can't bank on getting anything there. We need to beat Derby, and hope Leeds slip up against Burton. We've then got to hope that the pressure gets to Leeds and they implode. Other than that, I can't see us doing it. So yes, the next game is the most important.

Or quite simply, Woods goals dry up.
