If mcgugan comes back now could he be like a new player for us :D let's see

I wouldn't count on it, shuffle today by all accounts which doesn't surprise me one bit

Ridiculously overrated amongst our fans

I am not the one supporting a player thats stealing a wage from the club you support with your money. Like i say its up to you believe or not.

Not having a pop at you but I can't see how someone in his position (eg under contract) is "stealing a wage".  I don't like it and I'm pretty sure no Wednesday Fan does like the situation with players LM, it doesn't reflect well on either party.  Unless he's specifically asked to leave, if the club want him out, they need to pay up the contract in full.

Of the midfielders we currently have available I think Hutchinson and McGugan could well be our best combination.  A ball winner (Hutchinson) alongside a creative, goal scoring midfielder (McGugan).

Thought he told Carlos he couldn't or wouldn't play the attacking midfield role.

If he really is back in favour something must have changed.

Could be tactics/formation or another injury to a midfielder that's not yet been made known.

We really only have Jones and Bannan available in central midfield at present.

I think, if we've resorted to playing a traditional 4-4-2 midfielder like David Jones, then why not try Lewis McGugan.

Hutchinson is useful in a number of positions.

Imagine Hutchinsons work rate & tenacity, next to McGugans forward passing and eye for goal.

Bannan could play out wide, Adam Reach used as a sub, with his direct poweful running.

We saw that under SG and it worked really well, so hopefully with some firepower that can hit the target, not Dave it should bear fruit.

As a player you have to fight for your place and unfortunatly Lewis has not and has gained about 3 stone, happy taking his wages and Mr C offered  a 1 million pay off to terminate his contract early so he could move on with his career but lewis declined and is happy sit on his arse and earn more seeing his contract out. Only wednesday fans would blame the coach or owner when its actually the player.

Exactly he is the problem but hey let people fantasise, the guy lost interest in football as money is his motivation. Sad but true.

I thought it was over the number ten role (ironically he was given number ten for the u23s today).

pretty much agree with the rest. With Lee and now Abdi out we are a bit short in numbers or at least quality in central midfield (even more so if we go with a central three).

Or not at all given he's been bobbar when played out wide. He's a central midfielder pure and simple, the shoe-horning of BB into the team has been a real lowlight of the season so far imo.

Bannan played 90% of games last season out on the left. Hutch and Lee were always the central pairing.

played for 60 mins according to reports ,must be 1st game he played since oct nov for u23s I believe. why didn't he play last wk for u23s? a lot of u23 players wernt available and no other 1st team squad player played ,I'm thinking that carlos must have had a chat with him regarding rest of season. what that line up to me says is that hooper is still nowhere nr 1st team picture ,we have loads strikers fit so it wouldn't have been a risk giving him 60 mins so rule him out for Saturday , other 3 carlos hoped to be back Wallace fessi hutch no1 will know if they are fit until 1130am Saturday my guess is just Wallace might make it. those 4 players plus lee would have given us a massive boost for rest of season but I'm not that confident we shall see any of them . I think carlos knows he has no option but to give mcgugan a chance . I know he gets on with all the players bar 1 so its not like he is a bad egg in the dressing room. its just purely carlos opinion that he don't do enough tracking back and pressing I'm pretty sure about that 1. lewis could save Carlos's job the injury situation has clearly forced Carlos's hand .

Like Alex Ferguson with Roy Keane, Jaap Stam etc....

And Beckham.

Oh yeah and what about Guardiola and Hart and several Barca players who rotted in the reserves. Or Mourinho at Chelsea.

Managers manage, players play where they are told. You cant have it any other way.

Suppose If they're sought after...then it's a different story. McCormack had takers after the Steve Bruce fall out. Villa are able to have a quick turn around of players.

I believe McGugan is on 16/17k per week. Would be nice to see some value out of him this season.

Just for comparison though,

Reach is on 30k, Fletcher 31k, Hooper 30k+, Forestieri & Rhodes could be north of 50k a week each.

Guessing Jones, Hutchinson, Bannan & Lee are between 20k to 30k a week.

So McGugans 16k is comparitivly low, I wonder if he's been offered bonuses for any contribution made between now & the seasons end.

Four paragraphs of pure guesswork and speculation.

Well done.

First I've heard of this 1 million quid offer, but then again I don't pretend to be ITK :duntmatter:

PS Wouldn't a one-off payment like that have implications for FFP?

Contract terminated by mutual agreement
