Quick highlights

From my viewing of that:

- Their first goal YET AGAIN comes from us being unable to stop a cross coming into our box. Seriously lost count of how many times I've seen it this season, it must be about 70% of all the goals we concede. We just CANNOT stop the ball in from wide. It's got to be fixed and fast. (Also, why is Hunt marking Kodjia from corners? Ludicrous.)

- Sasso's red was a red. No intent other than getting the ball back after a poor touch, but both feet off the floor and facing forward. Really silly challenge and I'm so disappointed with/for him after a great little run of performances.

- Hunt's penalty shout was a penalty, absolutely no reason for him to go down and hard to fake being pulled down backwards from behind when you're running forward.

- Hunt played Kodjia onside for their second goal, not the first time he's been caught a good four yards deeper than the rest of the backline this season but tbf the damage was already done.

At least two of the above are total Groundhog Day problems that have cost us far more points than we can afford this season. Massively frustrating. Hope they can dust down, huge game up next.

Wonder how much Bruce pays the officials?

Over the last few years the decisions are outrageous.

Coke disallowed goal.

Nando red card.

Today maybe less black and white but adding them up and ALL going the same way.

Touch and go disallowed offside goal for us.

Red card for Sasso rather than yellow.

Clear penalty on Hunt.

Offside 2nd goal allowed.

No sour grapes, if we had done our job in other matches it wouldn't matter.

Seems fishy though.

Sasso was offside when Wallace's cross came in, not for the header back across goal that he actually stuck in. Suspect the flag was already up, the whistle goes as the ball is crossing the line.

Kodjia's second wasn't offside. Look at Hunt on the far side as the ball is slid between our CBs.

I think both Hunt and Fox are just about level where  you pause it.

As for the offside. ..

Someone may have to explain it to me again.

Active, not active , interfering with play, not interfering,  first phase , second phase.

I can barely keep off.

All I do know is he wasn't off when the ball was actually played to him

Why is our goal disallowed then? Sasso isn't active until it comes back across.

Agree Kodjia is just onside but it's one that in real time they often get wrong.

As per the other thread, we need to dust off and go again on Friday. No point dwelling on today.

Learning to defend set pieces might be something to focus on though. The first is unbelievably soft to concede.

NO WAY WAS SASSO OFFSIDE.........WTF !!!!!

This is the exact moment Wallace releases the initial cross. You'll have to take my word for it as Ross is hidden by Sky adverts when you pause the video, so I clipped him out.

Most likely Winnall that's flagged offside, rather than Sasso.

I think it's probably Winnall that gets the flag, see screenshot above

Oh, I get that.

But that's the old 1980's "Offside is offside" though isn't it.

Have they gone back to that old school rule?

Done away with interfering or not?

Or that one where they said it was only if you went for it?

Can't keep up

Winnall gets on the end of that initial cross, heads it back across to Sasso who scores. Can't really argue Winnall's not a) offside or b) directly involved.

But yeah it's almost as tight as for Kodjia's second. Both correct decisions IMO. but another day both decisions could easily have gone the other way. We got nowt our way today, sadly.

From his position he clearly has a good veiw of the pull on Hunt.

Anywhere else on the pitch he'd give the foul

Definitely agree with that second part. Happens far too often.

Grow a pair, ref - heck it's Wednesday, it's not like a penalty necessarily equals a goal. lol

Exactly, with a freeze frame it's touch and go. All the close calls went Bruce's way on top of the clear penalty. Over multiple seasons, with different teams, and different referees.

Each on their own meh. Win some lose some. Looks like a pattern to me.

As above not an excuse for the result today or our position in the league.

Fine margins.

Still. Shocking he misses the penalty.

I never trust a referee whose name I remember!!

Probert is on that list!

Aye, it's a name you hear a lot isn't it. Always a bad sign in a referee. One of a handful who seem to be genuinely headline hungry.

Yep, incredibly frustrating.
