Hull City Under 23s vs Owls U23s GOALS!

Recommended Posts

Saying he could easily play in league 1 etc, is a bold statement, but there's only one way to find out.

Getting to a point now where I wouldn't mind seeing him turn up at Mansfield next season, fatty Evans would bulk him up a bit too, there's a burger king next to ground.

Patience is still the key though, even if he were to go out on loan there's a good chance he'd still be on somebody's bench, just got to make the most of opportunities when they come, but he's got plenty of time

I think he is 18 this month.

Surely come August he will be ready for some League One or League Two football.

We saw how lost he looked against, then bottom of league two Cambridge Utd, he isn't ready for that level of football yet. Give him another six months, or a year, in the development side, then maybe a loan somewhere. If he continues to make good progress, then we might have an opportunity here for him

Doesn't suit all players to drop down to lower league clubs, it very much depends on the individual Plenty of youngsters manage to progress without dropping down the divisions. A lot of the top managers have mixed feelings about it

Surely August is close enough to 6 months lol

He will be 18 years and 6 months old in August.  If he is going to be anywhere near PL level he should be able to have some kind of impact at League 2 level at that age.

He will be 12 months further on from Cambridge which is a long time at that age and making any kind of judgment based on a debut second half cameo against Cambridge is harsh in the extreme.

It is, and it wasn't solely based on that, don't forget he's only just establishing himself in the development side. I do agree though, 12 months is a long time, and he does seem to be making rapid strides. It may well be that he progresses so quickly, that he will get his opportunities at a higher level, with us. Sometimes, if a player looks to have something a bit special, it's preferable to let them sharpen up against better quality opponents, than pick up bad habits in League 2. I guess it just depends on the individual.
