Don't agree that Rhodes has been on the decline, but I do agree he plays better with a big strike partner. Rhodes needs the ball knocking down and holding up for him. Not the other way round.

Exactly.

Maybe Fletcher and Rhodes.

Iv said that since we signed Rhodes. Makes more sense to me. Ff is a very creative player and for me is wasted up front. Far better on the left with the ball at his feet heading towards goal to create chances. Cracking strike from the left hand side tonight.

The problem you get with FF up front is it isolates the remaining striker (whoever it is, not just Rhodes). FF cannot be a striker as he loves to be involved in the game too much, loves running out wide (as per the goal tonight and many others). FF needs a free roll and being out wide gives him that (although the issue is tracking back defensively). Strikers need an understanding together and having FF as one of them is far too unpredictable for the other.

This 100%

Really want to see Hooper partner Rhodes. Felt for Rhodes tonight but there was a point where FF burst into the box and pulled the ball back only for Winnall and Rhodes to not be  in the area. wtf.

It was a great ball in from FF, unfortunately both Winnall & Rhodes had been involved in the build up to that move, it was the likes of Wallace stood on the edge of the area & not taking a gamble on a decent ball coming in.

If we don't play with positivity and create chances for him, then JR isn't going to score.

What's his record for us now? 1 in 4 ?

That's not a reflection on the lad, that's a reflection on our style of play.

1 in 5.

7 in last 30 Championship games.
