When has Bannan ever claimed to be a left winger? It's not his fault Carlos played him there.

Funny how the boot is on the other foot now. When Abdi was played out wide he was ridiculed was not contributing much and some posters made comments such as well he's a professional footballer that should be able to play in more than one position. Now it's Bannan's turn and recently when played centrally he has been poor offering no physical presence and often losing possession. On current form Bannan doesnt warrant a place in the team.

good player bannan our most creative midfield player which takes some doing considering how deep he's told to play ....had a poor game last night but he was far from being the only one .

Frustrating when he got injured we had Wallace and Winnall in centre midfield when Lewis Mcgugan is at home picking his nose.

Which by the sound of it is what Mugugan has been doing during training:biggrin:

The alternative is a long spell on the bench.  Abdi got us forward.

Abdi was always looking to move us forward, it didn't always come off but that can happen when you are looking for the incisive pass. Bannan looks for the easy (easier if I'm being generous) ball which slows us down

I genuinely don't understand what people see.

Some saying he was awful, some saying he was good. Baffling.

For me he put in a tidy shift with some good positive balls, good touch and available. But hey he was built up after Saturday, so let's whip him tonight eh

He also needs game time to get to his best, problem is i dont think he will get it with CC.

Wouldn't say he was great to be honest. Steady, but like others have said didn't influence the game whatsoever. But not helped by the fact he had 2 players either side of him that aren't known for their forward runs or mobility.

I really hope Carlos can find the courage to drop Banann. He's been very poor of late and a shadow of himself from last season.

Do you think Bannan on current form warrants a place in the team? My view is that he has been woeful giving the ball away often and making poor decisions on the ball. The team should be picked on merit not just because your face fits with the manager.

This is nearly accurate - it's not that Mazzari didn't rate Abdi - but he was the manager they had long been set on getting - and one of the terms of him going to Watford was that they would go and sign Roberto Pereyra

He would have been the preferred option for the attacking CM role - therefore Abdi was allowedto leave in the event suitable bids came in

Bearing in mind his premier league colleagues last season called him The Professor - maybe they should have taken their opinion from here - rather than actually train and play with him?

Why did they call him that ?

he's been doing ok last night apart .......if we have someone who can play his role better i'd drop him no problem but I don't think we have a player on our books who can play  the way that carlos likes bannan to play .....

He's quality - I hope he now stays injury free, gets a run in the team and we play to his strengths.

I hope your right but it would take a different mindset from carlos on how he sets up how we play for it to happen ....

not necessarily.  32 apps for Watford in their first season up.

As is the norm with the Pozzos at Watford, brought in a bevy of new players to go with their customary yearly new coach.  Mazzari didn't rate.  Here AA comes.

If you're going to slate, at least provide factual analyses.  Not alternative facts.

He didn't leave because the new manager didn't rate him, he left because he was being played at Right back at times.

I thought he was tidy. He would look better with movement from team mates.

He'd also look better with movement from himself......tidy is an apt description but strolling around like he has done so far is a luxury that I'm not sure we can carry....if he was a grade A luxury then we might but he's not
