Sam779
Around 1pm. Should probably allow 4-5hrs for traffic and stop offs.

true_blue_owl
Does anyone know what parking is like in Bristol? Any suggestions?
Sam779
Quote Leave the M5 at Junction 18 and travel along the Portway (A4) following signs for the Bristol Airport/Taunton (A38). As you go over the swing bridge (Brunel Way), branch left into Winterstoke Road, and you will see the ground on your left. Parking at the ground is for permit holders only. Mitch Ford informs me; 'Parking around Ashton Gate has been severely hindered recently in that many streets now have double yellow lines. There is the Bedminster Cricket club on Clanage Road (A369) that offers parking at a cost of £5 per car. It is then around a 5-10 minute walk to the stadium'. Otherwise it is a case of finding some street parking. phantom
City fan here - as a warning the area around the ground is a real nightmare for parking In addition there are a number of road works around the ground for the new Bristol tram system that is being built So allow yourselves plenty of time to park etc There is a new fanzone which the opposite end of the ground to where you're sat, away fans are welcomed there - there are a number of food and drink outlets and live bands play too Safe journey for anyone coming down

I know a fair few of the SWSWSWS (South West & South Wales Sheffield Wednesday Supporters) are heading to a pub called the Nova Scotia, near the SS Great Britain. It's about 15 mins walk from the ground and you can get there via the water bus if you're coming into temple meads station.

phantom
Nova Scotia is quite a walk, and not that big Away fans are allowed in The Tobacco Factory, which is nearer and much larger venue - if you are coming by train, there is a Wetherspoons pub within 5 minutes walk (The Knights Templar), fairly large venue, and have the taxi rank at Temple Meads that can get you to the ground http://www.tobaccofactory.com/ On Foot or Bike (from Temple Meads station)Exit through the main station doors and walk through the car park and bus/taxi area until you come to the main road. Cross the main road and turn left. Cross straight over Clarence Road, the river, and then turn right on to York Road. Continue along York Road with the river on your right hand side until you come to a large roundabout. Take the second exit onto Coronation Road with the river still on your right hand side. Continue on Coronation Road for approximately half a mile. Turn left in to Beauley Road (first turning after Camden Road), and then almost immediately turn right onto Raleigh Road. The Tobacco Factory at the top end on the right, at the junction with North Street.

Bearwood Owl1
The fanzone was pretty impressive. I liked the very civilised Costa style coffee shop next to the club shop also!
