Bizarre, how the hell can you sign a player, hardly play him through injury , get him fit then send him on loan when we have a midfielder out for the season!!

Explain Carlos please

CH coming in ............

Maybe he was abit homesick and wanted a chance to go out on loan!?

It can't be easy or much fun being out that long and in a foreign country.

good luck to him and the best whether that's with or without Wednesday.

Can't be easy or fun getting paid thousands of pounds for playing 6 games or whatever it is?

Am I really reading this? Fair play to him for going out and trying to find football/fitness but why do we have this ridiculous sympathy towards footballers and even more so the ones who are here who have contributed little to nothing? Maybe it's just me... but I think it's bonkers.

And if I was to guess, I'm sure he's spent more time with his family then any of our other international players.

It's strange how the lads like mcgugan abdi Melo and matias have never had a proper look in.

On paper they have pedigree and shown flashes of brilliance. Melo looked a beast with decent tekkers.

Might not be first choice players but surely too good to ignore.

McGugan has a terrible attitude and zero workrate. He's not even in training with the first team and hasn't seen Carlos in 6 months.
Abdi will be a starting 11 player once fit.
Melo has been injured long term and needs games, hence he's been loaned out. His contract ends in 2019, so we might see him next season, or can probably be recalled if he does well and Hutch gets injured.

Matias has also been injured, should be back soon tho. The problem for him in competition. Reach, McManaman, Wallace and potentially Nando (not mentioning Sougou and Buckley) all potetion occupants of a wide position. Look good in pre-season and in parts last year.

They all make sense, not much you can do about injuries. The only odd one is McGugan, but he seems to have created that situation himself.

i'm not carlos, but i still think i can explain.

melo is a defensive midfielder and he is currently behind hutchinson, jones, bannan and (for a place on the bench) semedo due to his ability to play in different positions.

Lee plays more an attacking role.

carlos has higher demands for fitness levels of his players than most managers and the portuguese league is noway near as demanding as the championship.

so he wouldnt be picked unless hutch, bannan and jones were out. with a loan he can play games and either impress carlos or put himself in the shop window because we are looking for better. simples.

what is really shltty on owlstalk at the moment is snidey comments about injured/unfit/out of flavour players. i guarantee abdi, urby and melo would all much prefer to be on the pitch than going to meadowhall everyday or whatever they are doing

I wasn't really being all that sympathetic really!

I was highlighting that maybe the reason he's gone back to Portugal  and not pushed for a place in our first team could be cos he might be homesick! (More to do with than just missing your family)

and no it can't be much fun being injured and unable to do what effectively is his job and what probably is his only source of income especially in such a short Carrer with such a unpredictable future!

as for the thousands he's paid... Not really his fault how much the club are paying him is it? What did you want him to do? Maybe not accept his pay check cos he's injured?

He looks excited about the move!

Good luck to him, hopefully gets himself fit and his career back on track.

With that kit they can call him Melo Yellow.

Quite rightly too.
