Let's forget Jordan Rhodes and spend the £10 mill this way

Recommended Posts

Buying him would really eat into our FFP allowance (max 13 mill per year) and it makes no sense whilst we have Hooper who is just as good at poaching goals and is much better than Rhodes in all round play.  Any money not spent on him would be better directed to where we clearly need strengthening so make Barnsley a Don Corleone offer they can't refuse for Hourihane (money that is not a horses head)  get  Macmanaman permanent and whilst we're at it get Maguire from Hull he's being wasted at full back. Now that would be a much better way to spend 10 mill.

On what basis are we signing McManaman or a permanent? His stellar 56 minutes? There's a phrase about guns and jumping that spring to mind...

At least give him a chance to impress/disappoint on a regular basis!

Didn't Tricky Trevor want to see Eric Cantona on grass first?

A Loan for JR wouldn't affect FFP much.

No one outside the management team knows our position regarding FFP.  Most fans have no idea how transfer fees  affect FFP.

No point in worrying about FFP until the club tells us there is a problem.

Thanks Mr C.

That's a tempting thought but if pushed I'd (probably) rather have the prem.

£10 mill or thereabouts is the price which gets bandied about for  buying JR.  Either way my point is don't worry if villa or anyone else stumps up we can get more bang for DC bucks elsewhere.  PS Maguire may lack pace but he's faster than Loovens (who gets by with his positional awareness) and he's now playing almost regularly at premiership standard - worth a punt when the new manager drops him for another foreigner.  We need strengthening at CH , CM and winger.
