I'd like to think we match them in size tbh, but when you look at their away attendances they beat us hands down and are now selling out at home. We'll take just over 1k on Friday and Leeds took 2.5k on a fri on sky etc. Also our away support at their place has been embarrassing last couple of seasons. Suppose them being a one team City helps a lot

you answered your own flipping question.so what you wanna know?

we are held back by being a one and an apology for a team city so therefore they should have more support than us  but truth is they don't get many more than us in the grand scheme of things but saying

that i don't care tbh

Yup.

I remember in 1993, when I watched us at home versus Derby in quarter-final of FA Cup and Blackburn in Semi of League Cup. We didn't sell out home end in either game, was 30k for both matches. Kinda hit home to me we werent the big club some fans thought we were. Also failed to sell out FA Cup Final replay. Pretty sure Leeds, Villa etc would have. Just being realistic when comparing Wednesday to other clubs.

3 trips to Wembley inside a month was a bit too much for some supporters money wise.

I had to beg and barrow for replay.

They might be a debate on who's biggest club but when it comes to who's better club we win by a country mile. UTO

Without being bias and honest, I'd say Leeds are 'slightly' bigger. But that's only because there's one team in Leeds, where as Sheffield has 2. But then I suppose that could open a can of worms! It will always divide opinions

Cringey as roger.  They love that song, it feeds their ego.  No idea why anyone does it.

Don't think they are clever enough to feed off it - they sing about Man Utd often enough and don't think that way, so why would Leeds fans?!

Really?, which away games have you been to where they sing about Leeds?...I can't remember many

Off the top of my head; Man Utd, Liverpool, Barnsley, Sheffield United, and Huddersfield are stadiums I'm certain I've heard anti-Leeds songs over the years. I'd suspect Chelsea and West Ham don't particularly like them either.

That's not including the number of fans I've heard across the length and breadth of the country refer to "We all hate Leeds".

Been to every stadium you mention in recent memory, can't recall hearing it...your last sentence is purely hearsay....

The truth is that all the big cities have "bigger" clubs than Wednesday. But that's because they were run in a different way, not because the air's different there. How on earth could Shankley, Busby and Revie have worked their magic at S6 on no money? Our board were administrators, and the most anybody put in was Dave Allen with a couple of million quid. Leeds even outbid us for Strachan although they were in a lower league than us, and that's doubtless why Wilkinson left. It's remarkable that Wednesday played in the top division all those seasons with that system, but in the end it simply couldn't generate sufficient wealth and that's why we were relegated. When Mandy took over it really was a turning point, and you can argue that it was the most important event in the club's history. Almost 50 years after the maximum wage was abolished, Wednesday finally modernized. So the question really is irrelevant, because the rules have changed now. What went before is well and truly gone.

Agreed. If we do manage to get promoted this season at the expense of Leeds, we will be getting 35k+ avg attendance in the premier; due to Wednesday and Sheffield being starved of top flight football. We'd have a serious opportunity for being the biggest club in Yorkshire for a generation.

And thats the truth right there. Today is today. The past is the past.

This is how it stands today.

This season Wednesday have 22,000 season tickets holders.

Leeds have 13,000 season ticket holders.

The difference between the clubs attendances are nominal.

Sheffield is a 2 football team city.

Leeds has one.

Potentially Wednesday have a huge lump of a fortune to tap in to when and if required, whether it be for players, stadium build etc

Leeds dont have a chairman that will promise that, indeed there is no guarantee that he will be at the club come May. (they may even have points deducted).

No brainer to me .We are the bigger club.
