I love how our fans don't want us to buy players until we sell. How do you know we aren't currently negotiating to get a few out. And if it doesn't happen it will cost Mr C. Not us.

Absolutely this!!

We really need to ship out Dave and Joao before bringing another striker in

Joao on loan, potential maybe there, Dave permanent as simply not good enough

You wont very often see it done that way round particularly in a limited timescale window. Almost always managers won't sanction outs until they have their ins for obvious reasons - imagine we let those two go then don't get what we want or we are  then held up to be forced to pay  a kings ransome for some numpty just to get cover for that position.

No mate think for sure we will be  bringing somebody in before we ship out.

This is the signing I wanted/want to happen! I reckon he would be quality for us.

Very good finisher. We will create more chances with ff now settled and mcmanaman coming into the side and getting better. Hooper also creates a load of chances.

Yet another ex scunny striker.   Steve McLean, Gary hooper.   Cheaper to find out who scouts centre forwards for scunny. They've had loads decent forwards over years.  We rarely find any.  Back in the day they discovered Barry Thomas and Kevin Keegan. They keep finding them, selling them, and finding others.  Billy sharp is another.  Don't we scout school kids?

Interesting sat with the Middlesbrough fans on Sunday discussing Rhodes, they want rid, they think he won't cut it in the Premiership. But as they pointed out would he be any good to us,as he has only played about 18 times in a year, and not many of them full games so how fit is he?.Would probably go on a crash course getting fit and then end up pulling a Hammy and being out for months.

They were'nt that happy letting Adam Reach go with Downing just about finished,Boro told Downing he can go out on loan. They reckon Trarore who they paid 7 mil for is only poor,so not only our fans not happy with signings after all.

I supposed that at least the Barnsley lad will be at full fitness for a big run in.

The big question is, will we sign a player who will improve our starting eleven. It's OK, keep buying these back up players but for us to close the gap on the sides above, we need an injection of quality

I can see why he's been linked - looks a very similar kind of player to Rhodes - a poacher, a finisher... but one with a bit of power and good in the air too.

Interesting

Ungrateful tvats, I'd have thought they'd have been ecstatic, getting £5m for Reach Steve Gibson must have been laughing all the way to the bank

I just pray that Reach deal was 5m based on us winning the premier league and champions league in the next 5 years

Im starting to  think we would be better spending money on Winnall and Hoorahine from the Dingles rather than Rhodes

If Brentford are after him it will push the price up as they will have a sackful to splash from selling hogan.

We have a sack full to splash from selling Tuna and Salmon lol

I think get Winnal in and soften the blow with LJ on loan till the end of the season, good deal all round but figure nearer the million mark

if anyone thinks Dave is decent back up then I guess mid table championship football is about our lot.

id love to take a gamble on pinching judge before he gets up to speed and the price gets hiked up again

Too true. They went through a spell of selling a centre forward every summer for wads and getting a replacement in for peanuts who carried on where their predessors left off,  banging them in for fun.

McLean, Keogh,  Sharp, Hayes,  Patterson, Hooper, off the top of my head.

Their striking scout is certainly worth his weight.

They're a bit like Peterborough in that respect, other clubs will ponder a player for ages, but Scunny and Peterborough take a chance where others hesitate

Exactly,  so I want to hear that you're 100% behind us taking a chance on Winnall!!

Yes, for the sort of money Scunny would be looking to pay.

Can it really constitute a "chance" when the lad is sixth top scorer in this league and has on his own scored more than a third of the goals we as a team have managed in that time?

Well he might be better, though that's debatable, but why do we need to add yet another player who isn't good enough to get into the starting eleven. He's only ever scored eleven goals at this level, so he's hardly a sure fire winner

would swap both for Winnall and drive them there, they are awful get rid soon as!!!!!
