None of us know how close we are to ffp, so none of us know what we have to spend. I can't for one minute think that a business man of Mr C's calibre hasn't set aside a decent budget for the January window. The signing of Macmanamun shows that we have a budget, I can't see him being cheap. As for the Rhodes comparisons Hooper is a very good player but nowhere near guarantees the kind of goal returns that Rhodes does. Ppl can do all the goals per minute ratios they want but the facts are Rhodes scores goals at this level hence the massive price tag. FF is a totally different type of player than Rhodes so there's no comparison there. FF has wasted half a season with whatever is going on in his head. So can we rely on him? The major point seems to be the money side. Ppl saying if we sign Rhodes we'llget a transfer embargo. Where is the proof of this? Hooper, to my mind is a better player than Rhodes, and offers a similar output. Perhaps Rhodes may shade it in the predatory goal scoring skills, but there isn't much in it Neither are great team players, but Hooper's link up play is slightly better. SiJ Posted January 1, 2017 Share Posted January 1, 2017 Thing is...Rhodes is a terrific goalscorer. In saying that I don't think he's a player who can score a goal out of nothing. He's a player who comes alive in the 18 yard box, lives off good service. Unfortunately I don't think we have been anywhere near out best creatively this season.
