TODAY’S OPPOSITES

While fame, ambition, sobriety and virginity are frowned upon in Rotherham, some entities conceived and/or born there have become recognised outside of it. Most of these either escaped to the safe haven of Sheffield and the Yorkshire Socialist Republic, or otherwise dared to throw themselves into the syringe-ridden torrent of the nearby River Tesco.

The town is most famous for producing the Chuckle Brothers during a botched attempt to clone Cannon and Ball in Rotherham Central Library, as well as being the birthplace of David Seamen, a moustached muckfilm film actor who moonlighted as an international goalkeeper. Allegedly, the blunder that knocked England out of the 2002 World Cup was a result of Seamen's fatigue - he had stayed up until 3 a.m. the previous evening filming in a mocked-up North Sea setting somewhere in the Sea of Japan.

David Seamen’s father formed their local football club in the late 1960’s and that’s how we come to be playing them today.

KING CARLOS’ PEARLS OF WISDOM

“I think we did really well, when we win everything is ok of course but we are playing the same way in all the games, with heart. Even though we lost the last game at Reading, I think we played against Barnsley at that same level, the same with Preston also and so on. We are playing all the time in a very high level, we deserved the win in my opinion.

“I want to congratulate my players for the way they played, they did fantastic against a very tough team. We did very good team work and when this happens, of course I am very happy. I am happy with the team in general, not just individuals. My team understood the moments of the game very well. The different problems the game put to us, we gave the correct answers and this happens because we have had one year and a half with the team and they understand better what we want.

Today it is another derby, they are very important to the fans and they are important to us so we want to give a good answer in all the moments of the game. It will be different to Tuesday. They play very different to Barnsley, who play with a style of fast attack, dangerous from set pieces and open up the game which is why they score a lot of goals. Rotherham are more solid, more compact, they are a threat in attack but in a different way to Barnsley.

We understand what they will do, we respect them a lot but we will be ready for the game and to fight for the three points. We know what to expect, they have changed some things especially in the last two games, they are more strong in this moment and we respect that. All the teams have attributes and weak points, we must try to explore the weak points and block the strong and we do the same in all the games. We are 100% focused on the game and we’ll play with the same attitude and same soul.”

Brilliant OMDT Pauli, well worth the wait!

  :manager:

Really hope we smash Rotherham today it's been a long time coming at home and hopefully we don't balls it up!

its a shame really cos I used to not mind little old Rotherham, even went to a few games when Wednesday weren't playing and put a fair bit of money in the begging buckets when they dragged them out then they showed their true colours so fück um I hope they plummet out of the football league.

As for the game itself I'm going for a Wednesday 4-0!

Let someone else have a crack at it Pauli, you're stealing all the plusses.

Aparently.

They have neither the Tay Tays nor the Llamas.

Such people do not deserve the title of "opposites". They are entirely without honour.
