You don't always notice his contribution but he does a great job in breaking up our opponents moves. Thought we became weaker when he was bought off and Saturday which showed when we conceded. There's some very interesting choices coming up regarding our offensive shape, big name players on big wages are going to have to be left out just because we have too many to play at once. TANGLED UP IN BLUE Posted November 7, 2016 Share Posted November 7, 2016 Won a few loose balls early on and moved the ball okay, unlucky to be subbed especially to put Bazza there who ran away from a few loose balls and moved the ball much slower. Groundhopping Owl Posted November 7, 2016 Share Posted November 7, 2016 He's mainly in to break up play and keep it simple in the middle - but he actually sparks off half our best attacking moves, e.g. when he fired in the shot which led to our goal on Saturday. Owl 44 Posted November 7, 2016 Share Posted November 7, 2016 What I did notice about him on Saturday is that his passes were often direct to players' feet rather than hoofing balls over the top that they have to control first. This enabled us to get moving straight away after receiving the pass, rather than having to have several touches to control it first which gave Ipswich's players the chance to close us down.
