Wow: Is it really nearly that time already?
It seems like only yesterday I was sat around thinking "oh god, August 7th is so far away... How am I going to entertain myself until then?"
But yes boys and girls: it is here. hold in your excitement, keep your expectations close to your chest to avoid dissappointment, and get ready for a soaring atmosphere.
I have planned the day in my head already: wake up, get ready, jump in the car, feel the butterflies in my belly as I head in the same direction as thousands of other fans, have a few beers, take a deep breath, and then wait... Wait for it to begin.
I will scream and roar as our stars enter to a barrage of cheers from all corners. I will stand and throw my hands in the air everytime the moment takes me out of my seat, and after an entertaining few hours, I will come away with a big smile on my face after an incredible performance.
This is it. Believe. We will not be disappointed. Not this time.
All I will ask is: Have you got your ticket yet?

Oh Christ! Why does this happpen?
Why do I feel like this? Why has your post got me feeling like everything is alright?
Forget everything? No
Win against D&R? Things are looking up.
I want to see Purse ripping our badge off the shirt in celbration after scoring from a corner with a flying header to set the season off.
I want to see the Kop explode, falling forward like we are still allowed to stand.
I want to see the South Stand give us a song, South Stand, South Stand give us a song.
I want to see us win comfortably, and walk away from Hillsborough like we all should. Happy.
I want us promoted.

One week till it begins.
It honestly feels like yesterday since THAT day, but it's in the past.
Us as Wednesdayites are fantastic at getting behind the club when it needs us most and i can feel the butterflies hatching in my stomach!
Premiership, Championship, League 1 or whatever ... i will be as excited for the first day on each.
Is this the year we gain some positive vibes from the pitch, where it matters, with a team that WANTS to play for Wednesday.
Forget last year, forget the summer .. it's nearly here!!

Got my ticket for the Kop yesterday and my train ticket.
Didn't expect to be in the UK at this time, but I can't wait for my first trip to Hillsborough for 18 months!
My last game was the 4x1 against Charlton. I'll take a similar scoreline on Saturday public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

This is the most excited i've been for the start of a new season for years.
Here's just to sum up my thought's on the season ahead............
IRVINE'S SUMMER ADDITIONS
Still have to pinch myself when I think about the squad of players Irvine's assembled without spending a single transfer fee.I beleive we have a squad the envy of the rest of the League 1 (possibly a small portion of the championship).
Irvine mentioned at the start of the summer (much to a lot of peoples neagative comments about it not being possible) that he wanted to assemble a team of Championship quality that would be capable of playing and competing if we were able to bounce back at the 1st time of trying, from the looks of the squad on paper I certainly won't argue with Irvine's vision of intent.
Over the summer there was me championing the arrival of such a player as Adebayo Akinfenwa, I only wonder what a depressed individual I would have been now this close to the start of a new season had that one come to fruition. But that was the type of player I was preparing to watch lining up for us this campaign amid all the doom and gloom at the time, the signings have surpassed anything I was expecting.
No doubt Irvine's power of persuasion deserves a huge round of applause for his efforts.
THE NAGATIVE BIT'S
Sure it's been a kick in the balls with the whole HMRC winding up order and the sale of Lee Grant, but if the sale of our best asset ensures the club I love starts the season on an even footing and given the best chance of a quick return to the top flight, then I can accept it.
As supprters we'd have been rightfully pissed off if we'd have accepted the 1st offer that had come along for Granty, but the fact we turned down 3 offers before hand from Burnley and that WBA and Bristol City offered even less than them when we'd had a bid accepted from Burnley makes all the negativity seem a bit childish to me.
Football supporters always have over exagerated value's for good goalkeepers in there heads (rightfully so maybe, but if you have a goalkeeper you're able to make a bit of cash from then that's a rare commodity in league football), the fact of the matter is we've made a million pound profit from a loyal servant and that seems to have been forgotten.
PRE-SEASON EXPECTATIONS
I think apart from one of the Malta friendlies last year we went the entire pre-season unbeaten and look what happened to us, just goes to show that pre-season friendlies mean diddly squat.
For me it was pleasing to see just how hard Irvine worked the players over in Austria and shows our boss is no soft touch despite what many supporters may think.
Seeing the players frolicking around on a yacht in Malta last season should have given us a slight inckling of what was to follow in a complete farse of a season.
I think the main stem of negativity for me personally was Strafford's untimely departure from the club.
I think under Lee's supervision I felt the club was safe, was the most secure it had been in my lifetime and that we were moving in the right direction as both a business and a football club.
Supporters of other clubs (one club in particular very close to home)envied our position having a young, passionate chairman that made supporters wake up and start to love there club once more.
When Lee left it felt that the club had no direction any longer, no purpose and nobody left at the club with the desire to see the club fulfil it's true potential.
But looking ahead! For me the fact there haven't been any pre-season friendlies at Hillsborough this summer has been a bit of a weird one but I think this will undoubtedly add to the buzz on August the 7th, and is sure to fire up the players when they walk down the tunnel to the tune of 20,000 odd Wednesdayites.
One things for sure...........................if we are winning saturday minus the inclusion of Clinton Morrison in the starting line up, if he comes on at any time during the game then that guys gonna get a serious introduction from the owls fans, gonna raise the roof.
 Can't bloody wait!
