Abdi

Recommended Posts

Anonymous again today, does he suit our style? Played out on the wing and had very little impact going forward or defensively.

He's a no10 AMF type and our formation doesn't suit him at all. We should either give him a chance in the middle or only play him behind a striker.

Reach has settled in fine, Abdi hasn't and it's largely down to him but not totally. He doesn't look comfortable in our team and certainly shouldn't play based on his current form.

Almost felt like playing with 10 men today. Thoughts?

He may not be a wide player but surely he has to put a better shift in there. Lacked effort along with getting on the ball.

It seems so strange we are playing him there as he said that was the reason he wanted to leave Watford, surely CC would have had told him he had plans to play him in the middle?

Said it elsewhere, he's too similar to Lee and Bannan and sadly for him both are better. Can't see him being anything more than backup for these two guys unless CC wants to shoehorn him into unnatural positions which detracts from the teams balance he keeps talking about.

He's better than both. Imho.

And that's no slight on bannan or lee. The three of them should be used but only two at a time.

Yep tend to agree, it was as though our back line didn`t want to pass to him,he`s good enough he has to think like the team do, I really hope it works out for him.

Both Bannan and Lee put in better shifts when forced to play wide. Shouldn't a good creative midfielder be able to play anywhere across the middle?

He could come inside looking for the ball like Bannan would, but he just isn't influenced games and looks to be getting on a bit tbh, his legs look heavy.

Hes a very tidy player with obvious quality but I have no idea what we think he can offer out wide, he also seems a little immobile for the money spent. Its hard to see the logic behind his signing though when you think he cost a similar amount to diame I think the money could have been spent better elsewhere.

I think you're right. Might be time to play him with Fletcher up front instead of Hooper.

I understand you point. He's not a head down run around type player.

Plus he left Watford for the very reason, that's happening here. Bunged out on the left wing.

That's going to annoy you. Plus effect your form.
