Hooper

Near the end when it was a bit hectic the players were running their tails off - apart from him.

Play him every week I've no doubt at all he'd score 20+ goals but we wouldn't finish top 6. He'd be the McCormack/Rhodes of the team.

How can a player go for scoring every match for about 10 games to not scoring at all in 20 games? He looked excellent last season....what has happened?

He is no different at all.

He scores people say he's brilliant, he doesn't score he's no good!

Against Birmingham away he was dire! His shirt didn't have a patch of dirt on it. But he scored 2 and people hail him as outstanding.

Exaxt same performance and no goals, he's dreadful.

His positioning got him the second and the first was a bit of magic

what i like about hooper is that he is always in the right place, but teammates either dont pick him out, or the finish is poor, think back to some of those misses last season, before he went on that run,

i am not a fan of Hoopers but i think we can all agree when he manages to get a couple in, he will be prolific for us and go on a run for a while

and that's what you get with that type of striker...

no sweat 2 goals, 'he's a fantastic finisher'...

no sweat 0 goals 'he's an idle b******'....

My point exactly. If we didn't have his type we'd be crying out for it.

Now we do, we just have to go with the flow.

7 in his last 24 league appearances, including 2 goals in two of those games, meaning he's scored in 5 games in his last 24.

Be interesting to see whether people deem that good enough

That's a really strange way of looking at things - like discounting the Ronaldos and Messis of this world when they score a brace or hatrick or a cricket batsman's century when looking at his average.

Hooper is a goal scorer - has been throughout his career at many clubs in many leagues.

Wednesday fans cry out for a 20 goal a season striker

Hooper comes in and gets 13/14 in half a season

Said striker goes on a bad run

Said striker is condemned to junkyard

It is the Wednesday way!

(on a side note he does need to get going again for us asap)

(on a side side note - he is the joint top scorer this season)

Ah but penalties don't count.

Apart from the goal scoring issue he has made himself an easy target because of his lack of fitness.

We have a lot of good players and it is a real conundrum for Carlos.

Do you select a lazy hooper at the expense of one of our hard working quality midfielders or athletic Joao

If we get a quality left winger if will get even harder.

This is why he has spent a lot of time on the bench in his career

If Joao starts scoring and not missing crazy sitters, the second strike spot is his! He has the quality and does put fear into defenders, just needs to get the end product sorted. Hooper should not be forgotten, he has quality. Still would like to see Rhodes come in lol
