Also, Jones, Abdi & Fletcher would get in just about every team in the league bar probably Newcastle. All top signings. Looks like were sticking to 4-4-2 so looks like we will carry on playing players out of position to get all our best players into the starting line up. Still think carlos will get it right but huddersfield seem to have signed players that have suit the system the manager wants where as we haven't. We lack pace (whilst this isn't the be all and end all, some is needed) . We lack width bannan , abdi and lee are awful wingers , Wallace isn't any better either. We are also weak at full back. It is when in terms of recruitment we've added no youth to the team, and we haven't strengthened in the full back positions, only signed one winger when really two were required and still haven't really added extra height or strength in the middle (Jones is probably half of what we need) You can't just take that snapshot and then say I'm being silly. Anyone saying the above isn't 'good recruitment' is an idiot... but nobody is saying that. When you look at the whole picture, every signing, the entire squad... our recruitment hasn't been as good as it should be. Good recruitment makes the above signings you've mentioned and addresses the pre-existing weaknesses of the team... as it is, we've only half addressed those weaknesses. Blueblood Posted August 28, 2016 Share Posted August 28, 2016 I'd still expect top 6. Hopefully yesterday's performance will kickstand the campaign in the same way the Burnley game did last year. Top 2 was always a but too optimistic with the strength of teams that came down and the spending power they posses.
