Player dies on the pitch

That's the first time I've heard the link between motor neurones disease and football, it's certainly made me think as a 29 yo friend of mine died from this last year, he had played football all his life, he was a big powerful centre back.

Sadly he was diagnosed in march last year and died on July 13th, 4 days after marrying his childhood sweetheart, leaving behind 2 young kids, as a twist of fate, the date of his wedding was set 2 years earlier obviously not knowing he would only just make it?
