  1. I could be wrong, but Didnt it come out somewhere that DC wanted/expected a promotion push from us this season? I seem to recall reading that Darren Moore had disagreed with this idea, as he felt it would/should take longer and also because DC wasnt willing to invest to build a squad capable of that. Im sure this all came out in the wash when DC and Moore broke thier silences on the whole reasons for Moore leaving saga. My memory is crap though. I honestly think that Xisco was only employed over Danny Röhl or anyone else, because he was the ultimate yes man with a promotion on his CV. Unlike the others who could see we needed time and rebuilding, Xisco probably just said "yes ill get promotion boss" and agreed to DC's absurd idea. Any othermanager with anything about them at all, would have looked at the team we had and knew it was going to need a 2 to 3 season transition period to kick on.
  2. I really do not know. Makes no sense. Unless the terms of the Wharton deal are installments and they didnt get enough up front. Still see them getting McGuire, but maybe the mid flight cancellation soured him a little on the move.
  3. Wharton from Rovers to Palace deal now complete according to Fabrizio Romano, so you would think its likley that the McGuire deal will be back on for Blackburn now too.....
  4. Not sure if true, but a post on twitter has pointed out that someone appearing to be McGuires mum is liking posts about him going to blackburn and liking posts from Blackburn fans etc. Could also be testicles though.....
  5. Greg Fee .....26 games between 87 and 90 for us.
  6. Good luck with it pal. Heres hoping you get to where you want to be.
  7. Imagine If we apointed Colin short term and he somehow managed to keep us up and get us to lower mid table, most fans (not all) would then expect we go out and find a proven manager to kick us on. Fanbase would be in meltdown if we then appointed someone who has never been a manager. Short term thinking is how we got in to this mess. The instant success mentality needs to change first. A lot of (again not all) owls fans expect immediate improvement and its not always possible. An appointment like Rohl or anyone else, would need time. It also requires that the fans and DC are both willing to accept that it may get worse before it gets better.
  8. The worrying thing is, even though it was crap, it was still actually an improvement on what we had seen under Xisco. Yes we were poo ,but we didn't fold in on ourselves and we managed to stay in the game. The players seemingly knew where they were playing and we even had players pressing (at times) and we got the ball out wide trying to get crosses in to the box etc. All very basic things and not things that should be celebrated, but also things were weren't doing under Munoz. For me, we would have played a lot worse and lost today if Xisco was still here. We just need to accept that whoever comes in now, will likely put all focus on making us hard to beat. Playing good football isn't going to be high on the list. DC and his ******** poor choices has seen to it that this season is going to be a tough one for us to survive and to watch.
  9. Hes probably signed one year deal with a view to seeing how we do this year. He seems well regarded as a decent young player, so makes sense (on his part) to only sign for one year with a newly promoted club and to keep his options open. I doubt the one year idea was from our side.
  10. Not fair to slate Fletcher or any of the forwards at the moment when these tactics and style of play are so ******** poor they would ruin any player. He defo isnt the answer and we know that, but him and the other forwards are being starved of anything remotely resembling service.
  11. I mean its been 3 league games..... the lad signed a month ago with 9 others, got chucked in to a team that doesnt even know how they are supposed to be playing, and hes lining up alongside players whos game he doesnt know and who dont know his game..... I mean he might turn out to be total dogshit, but maybe we should give the lad a chance first, no?
  12. They had time and space in both midfield and in our defensive third on that left side. Can blame the midfielder for some of it, but Famewo was also responsible for leaving his man open/not reading the play. Regardless of how we were set up, none of it really changes my views on not rating either Iorfa or Famewo at full back. Both might be able to play there but neither should be our first choice in my personal opinion.
  13. Not good enough for us!!! Hes been here 2 days now and not scored a single league goal..... Never going to make it!!!
  14. Not gonna lie, the thought of Famewo at LB or LWB doesnt fill me with any confidence. Hull Ruined us down the left last week and i know Delgado wasnt much use defensively, but neither was Famewo. Time and time again the man was not tracked by either of them and was just left wide open for passes and runs. If hes going with wing backs, its got to be Palmer and James /Johnson at a push. Interwebs is saying Valentin is a RB/RWB so maybe he plays there and Plamer on the left.....
  15. If you look at the ins and outs this season for most clubs, most are free transfers and undisclosed, we are no different than over half the teams in this league.
