  1. Ron Springett Only England's best ever keeper stopped him winning a World Cup. Ron was class, no doubt about that.
  2. Four of the greatest ever players & would be in any world's best ever teams, are... Bobby Charlton George Best Bobby Moore Gordon Banks All of whom have graced Hillsborough Stadium. There are also countless other brilliant footballers to have done so, Pele being one of those, but these four, for me at least, are the stand outs.
  3. 69 to 84....had to stop away games then when kids came along. 70's were the best time ever for me as a fan...the football was mostly dire but travelling away was special, Wednesday fans, especially on the road, were the best...loyal, loud & big numbers...great memories.
  4. Reasonable comments & may actually work with a normal person. Chansiri isn't a normal person...he's a text book narcissist...narcissism should never be taken lightly.
  5. As someone with many years of having to cope & deal with it in my family, I can tell you Chansiri is a text book narcissist. Confrontation, if possible, should always be avoided, if it isn't possible, watch out....no contact 'rule' is also almost impossible due to being fans of the club, he will continue to act out his delusions as he sees fit. If he does go, it will be under how he sees it, any damage caused won't be his fault. There is no cure for narcissism, eventually it's a wrecking ball through people's lives, for those not involved it can be entertaining, think Donald Trump, for those in it's path, well, almost anything is possible, can only hope the end result is just a side swipe, cos in my opinion he IS capable of destroying Sheffield Wednesday as we know it.
  6. "Be honest. Are you worried?" Sometimes disappointed, ecstatic, happy, frustrated, puzzled, feeling meh, fed up but............NEVER worried. Bottom line it's football, doesn't even register in life as something to be worried about
  7. Mel Sterland for me....yes I know he's probably not the greatest if you break it down but for me he was. Loved his style, always imagined him running down the wing to ACDC's Thunderstruck...he was a warrior, I love warriors.
  8. Only once that I can remember...one or two games in for David Hirst & the bloke in front of me in the North Stand was slagging him all game & finally said.. "that lad will never make a footballer while he has a hole in his ar5e"..anyway we verbally got into it for about ten minutes but yeah...that's it.
  9. I voted for the old 3rd Division....not because of the standard of football Wednesday were producing but just that when we were there in the 70's it was the best time to be following Wednesday for me, especially the away games...Owls fans that went away were the most loyal bunch I've been around, always backed the team no matter what & believe me the football on the pitch was dire. The song I remember most from that era was... "all we are saying..is give us a goal"... & when they did we went mental even if we were losing by three or four & those three cup ties against Arsenal at Filbert Street are legendary in my eyes. Also back then football was still football...kick off at 3pm on a Saturday, 10 minutes for half time & the cup draw was live on the radio on the following Mondays....no pratting around to fit in for TV or whatever.
  10. I love this about football...must have hugged dozens of people I don't know due to Wednesday scoring...it's the best.
  11. Holy crap...don't think I've ever read anything as delusional as that on a football forum before.
  12. Has he really said that?....never seen or heard it myself.
  13. Have we applied for permission to enter the city centre, wouldn't want to upset the red third.
  14. Never thought about it like that but yeah, you're right, it would & could not ever happen. The only thing more pathetic is Leeds thinking they are rivals of Manchester United, if anyone can explain that one I'd be surprised. I honestly do not see ANY club as rivals other than Sheffield United....most of the Blades I know & that's a fair few reciprocate that feeling...I have no time for love ins with other clubs.
