  1. The construction of the pitch will be such that the rain water will pass though it pretty rapidly. They’re speeding up the surface so that the ball will zip about at pace not watering it to make the grass grow.
  2. It’s different. There is a wage cap based on 60% of turnover.
  3. He made a good debut. Then everyone got carried away and he became prime Yaya Toure because he wasn’t playing
  4. Nature of professional sport is that if you’re 5% off your game you will get absolutely battered. It’s ruthless. It’s only more in the Championship where every game is hyper competitive. We have a not particularly strong squad with a few ‘good’ players on their day. Couple of off days and it’s 2-0, 3-0, 4-0 in 30 minutes. It’s professional football and very few opposites won’t exploit a weakness when they see it. It is not helped at this club by the management of the squad where vast majority are out of contract every year. It’s madness.
  5. Buckley wasn’t our choice I would guess. Byers is balancing the budget to pay for Ubgo and Poveda who have both been excellent It was obviously not a football decision rather a financial one. Which is very annoying when we are obliged to pay for several players that we clearly don’t want to play.
  6. It's a good owl. But not quite a superb owl
  7. This is the content that I want to see on Owlstalk. Less squabbling about politics. More nonsense Saudi takeover rumours and Owl themed teetowels
  8. Good luck with that. Not that I particularly agree with clubs being bought by oil states but you can argue that they are spending ‘responsibly’ because they have unlimited funds. FFP/P&S was originally created to stop clubs spending more than they have. Well, that doesn’t apply when you’re owned by a country. It’s not fair to clubs that aren’t state backed. But that a whole different question.
  9. It was probably 8 years ago. His first summer. And like everything else at the club it’s probably done on the cheap nowadays. The pitches you see in the Premier League are like that because they have millions spent on them annually in maintenance
  10. Any CCJs for unpaid aerial installations?
  11. I think the only way you can solve this in the Premier League is a hard salary cap like they do in the US sports. Will never happen though they’ll be terrified of the players leaving for Saudi. Ideally UEFA do it as a condition of entry for the Champions League across Europe but also unlikely
  12. It depends on how much is infrastructure investment and how much is transfers and wages. As others have said genuine investment is not part of the FFP calculation
  13. Yeah, you’re right of course. I’m already a Wednesdayite member.
  14. It’s not to criticise the existing trust because I applaud anyone who is willing to give up their time to do something. But it could be so much more if they had a real voice and a larger membership
  15. One with an actual purpose and wide membership that represents more than the few people who opt in.
