  1. We had to miss the game yesterday as my son had his last ever away game with his current U18 side, 2pm k.o. 'just down the road' from Ewood Park at AFC Fylde. Their Academy and Education Complex was probably a better facility than our training ground.
  2. The Ammies managed a point with a stoppage time penalty at Bury on Easter Saturday, in front of 4,000+. Followed by a late 2-1 defeat away at Wythy Town on Easter Monday. A couple of twists and turns since Easter weekend, including defeat for Wythy Town at Chadderton last weekend and a loss at 'home*' against Padiham for Bury on Tuesday night sees the Ammies top of the table, separated only by goal difference from Wythy Town and 1 point ahead of Bury going into tomorrows final fixtures. I'm heading up to Squires Gate FC in the hope that the Ammies can clinch the win that should seal the title and back to back promotions, unless Town can overturn the 15 goal GD deficit at home against Skelmersdale United. Bury will be looking to capitalise on a slip up by both sides from Wythenshawe in their derby fixture, away at neighbouring Ramsbottom United. Times are still exciting. *Played at FCUM after the original fixture was postponed on Saturday due to the pitch at Gigg Lane being unplayable.
  3. Sarmiento, on loan, comes on on 89, scores winner 8 minutes later. Ashley Fletcher, on loan, still waiting for him to score 8 months later.
  4. Went down to Wythenshawe FC (my son plays u18 at the club) on Saturday, routine 2-0 against win against Colne, in front of just over 400. They beat Kendal 4-0 last night, and moved top of the Northwest Counties Premier division. Easter weekend is shaping up to be huge with away games at Bury, who are currently 3rd, and the El Civico derby against Wythenshawe Town, who are 2nd in the league and boast modern day Wednesday legend George Boyd amongst their ranks. Exciting times.
  5. Not winning at Rotherham is a far more disastrous result than getting 0 points at Portman Road. Today was always about all the results elsewhere, and Swansea aside nobody had won. That's us done with the runaway top 4, we can get back to picking up points against the rest. Others might not be so fortunate, Blackburn for instance have all of the top 4 to play in their remaining 7 games I think. They've not won in, 16, or 17, games now. I'd rather be in our position.
  6. ...Millwall(A) was spectating...highlighting where his interests now lie He's playing at an ok level, in the Northwest Youth Alliance Premier division, but certainly won't be winning the FA Youth Cup, like his best mate did with West Ham last season, anytime soon.
  7. Old teammate of my sons, went to Man United at u9 then moved to Burnley after u16. Two others from the same grass roots team went to City and are now at West Ham and Sheffield United. My lad went to Burnley for a while, then Rochdale, and most recently Millwall (A) last Saturday Fair to say, by pure fluke, they had an above average grassroots side for a season or three!
  8. Colombian ... Sniffing about ... Nice work @Toadie
  9. Sorry, I didn't read it that way initially. I read it more to be making the point that any punishment imposed on the club for the actions of this one individual would be unwarranted. @OneManBand, I apologise for my misinterpretation. My point still stands, it just bears no relevance whatsoever as a direct reply to your post.
  10. What job is done? One racist individual is dealt with, and, you're right he needs to be. But he's not the only one, not just at our club, at all clubs, so find him, ban him is not job done, there's no deterrent for the next racist cuunt. Yeah, the rest of us are not impacted by a points deduction or by a game or two played out behind closed doors if they 'find him' and 'ban him' ...but the next player on the receiving end of racist abuse from the next racist cuunt sure will be impacted. The job is far from done, as these events occurring over and over and over demonstrate.
  11. Isn't that what 'we' have been doing all along, getting real and banning culprits...yet here we are 50+ pages in discussing this most recent example. It's quite obvious that we are not learning form it and we are not moving on. So why don't we punish the 99.99% of the fan base for a change, instead of those who have been the victims of this abhorrent abuse from day one? Why should they be the ones to suffer any longer, while we continue not learning and not moving on? Maybe it's time to try a different approach.
  12. My son's best mate is at West Ham, been training with him this week, has just provided the very same appraisal of him (in fewer words, he's a footballer)
