  1. Aaaaaand out of nowhere, he’s moved onto getting angry about trans people. Absolute classic. His next sights will be climate change.
  2. Joey Barton is going down a very similar track to Laurence Fox. Initially has a reasonable point that gets lost in bluster. People overreact and call him “far-right” which in turn makes him double down and get more and more mental, to the point where he actually does play the part he’s been accused of. I can genuinely see him joining Reclaim now.
  3. I don’t necessarily agree, but that penultimate paragraph is true. I’m not sure why Joey Barton has decided to pick a fight with Laura Woods, Bianca Westwood et al or call people eunuchs. But his point (which is lost in all his bluster) is that women can’t offer the same insight into the men’s game, any more than a male who has never played pro-football can. I couldn’t really give a monkeys, but it’s a point I’d like to see sensibly debated more rather than having to pick between the Anti-Woke maniacs and the Cancel Culture enthusiasts.
  4. Okay, that makes sense. Thankfully he hasn’t poached him.
  5. Apologies if this has been answered before but how did we acquire Bailey into our academy? His dad is “head of individual development” at the sty, so given their academy has a much better reputation than ours, did he deem his son not good enough originally? If not, what was the story? Don’t get me wrong, I ain’t complaining, I just find it bizarre his dad is in a development role at our neighbours.
  6. Our summer transfer activity and expected lack of January activity is effectively a 30 point deduction on ourselves.
  7. Unfortunately, the way both the EFL and HMRC will see this is that Sheffield Wednesday FC are not meeting obligations and would be so punished. It’s not fair and in an ideal world, the owner would simply be confiscated of the club, but this is bad news for us.
  8. Paying HMRC isn’t a luxury for fans, it’s an obligation. It’ll also presumably be from PAYE already paid by staff of the club or VAT already paid by others. After everything that’s already happened AND now this, if you still want that clown at the helm, you must be a blade. ”Be careful what you wish for” - well I’m not quite sure how a “wish” could make it worse. Scunthorpe and Reading fans seem more bothered than us. The time for cat footing around has to end. Support the team - absolutely But the Chansiri needs to know in no certain terms that none of us want him here. We’re not grateful for a splurge of money 7 years ago.
  9. I wish there was a mechanism for football clubs to be confiscated from owners. Or even put in special measures like schools. The squad is worse than it was in League One last season, but players have been below their capabilities. Xisco was out his depth, and we’ve also had bad luck. BUT The guy who is responsible for 99.99% of this poo show is that clown Chansiri.
  10. If Stoke-on-Trent, Nottingham and Bristol can live with 2 football league teams, Sheffield certainly can
  11. It’s certainly on at the moment. Was is our lowest ever tally? We need to start a countdown on progress against it
  12. I’ve said before I’d take Colin, but as a compromise for the haters, I’m sure he’d love us singing “Warnock’s a ********” instead of “Neil Warnock’s barmy army”
  13. There are some legitimate criticisms of him, such that he’s a bit of a dinosaur, not for the long-term etc. And if people are against him on those grounds, fair enough. But personally, his track record of keeping teams up (and getting them promoted) is one of the best. I care first and foremost about Sheffield Wednesday, and hating the pigs is a byproduct of that. I wouldn’t not take someone as manager to the detriment of SWFC in the name of “hating pigs” and nor should any of us.
  14. I’d take him. I know it nearly happened 10 years ago before him and Mandaric decided he wouldn’t be welcome. I hope an extra decade, the fact that pigs fans don’t like him anymore and that we’ve softened a bit up him would hopefully mean we’d consider it more from a football point of view. He would keep us up IMO and I’d love him here.
  15. I presume I’m in this camp. My point was, I’m not prepared to pay £50 for sub-standard football when better teams charge much less, which is in part as punishment for our owner’s mismanagement. As a consequence, I won’t be there to spend on other things my son would want whilst there (which as an aggregate of reasonable price + subsistence at the game is probably more than solely the extortionate match ticket) I don’t just have a single figure for the lot.
