Blocking a manager leaving is much worse than a player. One unhappy player in the dressing room can be managed, but an unhappy manager whose job it is to coach and motivate the whole squad? Very bad idea.

I wonder if the issue with FDB is not money, but being at a club where he will play every week. That's certainly what he needs to develop further and here he is not close to being "the main man" in midfield.
