… it’s because our players aren’t very good

Röhl’s not perfect, but of all of the poo at the club - the poo facilities, the poo players, the poo chairman, the poo recruitment, the poo finances - he’s the thing that’s the least poo so we probably shouldn’t throw the baby out with the bath water

Yeah. It’s almost like we need a player who can score goals to win those games. If only there was some kind of window in the middle of the season that let us sign players that’d improve the team.

Maybe we should have signed a midfielder that fits into the system like he’s been saying he wants pretty much since he got here.

Byers has started 17 times for us this season. Only 6 players have more minutes for us in the league. That’s not to say he’s the answer but we need bodies on the pitch.

It doesn’t matter how good the players we have signed are. The problem is that we have had 2 gaping holes in the team that everyone has known about since the last window closed and we haven’t filled them. Poveda being good isn’t going to magically stop us needing another central midfielder

I have no problem with the business we’ve done, it’s the business we haven’t done that’s the problem. It’s been obvious we’ve needed a number 9 since Autumn 2022. Röhls been talking about us needing a number 6 for months. We needed a left back, a keeper, a winger and a 10 too - Pedersen, Beadle, Poveda and Ugbo all improve the squad but it’s not enough considering we’re fighting for our lives and all the teams around us have strengthened significantly.

Oh good. Pedersen’s a loan so we’re not even going to be able to fit the signings into a matchday squad

Considering everyone’s known we need a goal scorer for 18 months, failing to get one now, in the position we’re in, is an unmitigated disaster

Windass can’t seem to string more than 3 games together, we need a number 10 to play when he doesn’t. If either of Gassama or Musaba get an injury, we’re stuck with Wilks which is not going to do. Johnson’s playing well but Famewo is his back up and that doesn’t work - besides we need him in the middle. I’ve been watching Wednesday long enough to know that we won’t sign cover and at least 2 of the names above will get injured in the next fortnight

Obviously it’s not going to happen - but it’s what we’ve needed all month. Even if we get a centre forward in we’ve not done anywhere near enough business. We’re one injury away from disaster
