  1. Black balloon protest: > simple > cheap to organise > Visually impactful for the cameras > historically aligned with our protest back in the day
  2. I see a lot of discussion at the minute (understandably) surrounding what we need to do to survive, how many points we need to average per game etc. However, given how abysmal we've been, and that we've taken 3 points from 13 games with a -17 GD, I don't think it's a conversation we can even entertain at this stage until we look like a team capable of winning. We've just experienced EVEN MORE managerial upheaval and are back to square one with Rohl. All we can do is support them and hope it somehow clicks... I'm not trying to be all doom-and-gloom but - when we are currently on-course for achieving 10.6 points this season - it seems a bit over-analytical to calculate what we need to do to get 45/50.
  3. His Vodafone reception was steady but 3G non-existent back then.
  4. I agree with you, however, this is no time for the limbo.
  5. how about every game the balls get bigger? Tennis balls Small kids footballs Regular-sizes footballs Beach balls Space Hoppers Cake Balls For the sake of longevity we should have started with marbles, but we can't get hung-up on that now.
  6. I completely agree with the sentiment here of ticket prices vs the (lack of) quality being signed. When the extortionate pricing was announced, the one bit of hope was that it might mean we going to build a capable squad. I will support the team and manager (from afar) but the club itself feels rotten again after finally looking like it might be turning a corner only a few months ago.
  7. Like you mention, it’s not just the numbers, but the actually quality that is a concern. I would take 21st right now if offered.
  8. I know it strays away from the Sheff link, but I prefer Xisco Inferno
  9. With all the turbulence of the last week - no manager, threadbare squad, feel-good factor gone - it’s got me hoping that there’s some other Championship teams in a real pickle (preferably 3 or more). Are there any other Championship clubs currently looking like they could be up against it next season with regards to finances, managerial issues, or a (currently) turd squad?
  10. As things stand at this very moment, we are one of the weakest / most unstable teams in the league are we not? I know this should change in the coming months, but it’s hard to make any other prediction that relegation at this current time.
  11. This thread highlights the truth that as a fanbase we will never be truly happy with any manager. Moore broke so many records this season and help achieved one of the most incredible comebacks in football history. Then promotion. “yes but he wasn’t as tactically masterful as Pep” (paraphrased) It would have been an achievement for Moore to keep us up next season, now it will be an even bigger achievement for the new incoming manager, whoever it is.
  12. It’s worth pointing out that 14 of the last 15 teams promoted from League One finished in the bottom 10 in their first season in the Champ (Sunderland being the exception). Survival has to be the sole aim.
  13. I think you’re being a bit pedantic. if there were only 10 teams in the league it’d be still a (neutral) 30% chance. Look at how long it took the Blades and Sunderland to get-out…
  14. Firstly: well done Wednesday. What a day; what a memory! As penalties looked inevitable at the time, I can’t help but think what people would be saying about Moore had we lost on pens after not being able to break-down a team over 70ish minutes of play. I honestly think Moore would have been berated, with many saying Duff ‘out-managed’ him on the day (a valid argument). I believe a large group of fans would have said he should go because he failed to get us promoted. That was the argument when people cited 96 points after all: “it’s irrelevant. His aim was to get us promoted.” Since Wembley, I’ve not seen one remark saying that he should go, but in reality, he’s no different from the manager that could have easily seen us lose on penalties… this isn’t an anti-Moore post: quite the opposite. whether we went-up or not this season, I think you have to step-back, look at the numerous records that were smashed, look at the positive team culture that has been established, the semi final comeback etc and realise we’re onto a good thing with Moore. It can’t all be rosy all the time, even during good seasons. the league is setup for disappointment. Every year only 3 teams out of 24 get promoted (12.5% chance). Any time we get a new manager, comments are always made about how it’d be nice to give a (capable) manager a longer-term opportunity without the fans prematurely flouncing. Moore is exactly the same manager he would be if we were still in League One. That is worth thinking about… Well done Moore and the team: up the Owls!
