Let's assume Hutchinsons knees go again.

Dunno. There are a few what ifs to be answered. There are a number of players we need to squeeze a lot more out of; such as Hooper, Matias, Sougou, and McGugan. Lopez is another, and maybe him and Lee could work in Sam's absence. That's something we also need to find out in the coming weeks.

So given the fact that he nearly retired due to injury makes you think we shouldn't bring in a suitable back up? lol

No not at all, having a suitable back up is required but to automatically assume his knees are going to go given his last year or so injury record (purely knees as that was the op subject) is unwarranted.

Could Liam Palmer play there? Was thinking on Saturday that he'd have done a better job than semedo

Probably would have done a better job than Semedo,  but no

Nothing against Palmer, but he's one of those "old Wednesday" players along with Semedo and Helan

They'll probably keep you in this division, but none of them are good enough if you want to climb out of it.

I think the OP raises a valid point, personally. It would be reckless not to anticipate and plan for a scenario that history shows is quite likely - whether it's knee, back, hamstring, or whatever. Touch wood, nothing happens to Sam. But we need an able deputy incase it does.
