Weshallovercome
It can't have been, totally impossible.....especially when you factor in us loaning Kuqi to Ipswich that week and him scoring that Saturday. It's the Wednesday way...
KivoOwl
I went to both. Both were unfathomably bad. Rushden was atrocious. Grimsby was awful - think it came a week after we'd beat top of the league Portsmouth away and needed points deserateyl
SiJ
You obviously didn't go to the 0-0 draw at home to Grimsby that season, Sij......having said, I didn't go to the Rushdens game so you could be right.......doubt it though. Hopefully those days are behind us. Oh I went to the Grimsby game as well. Eric Nixon had go in goal for Kevin Pressman. Only we could have had a goalkeeper on the bench who was fatter than Big Kev. Marcel Cas mullered Besertw*t so bad he was taken off after 15 minutes.
bradowl
0-8 away to Middlesborough 73/74 0-3 away to York 74/75 0-3 away to Mansfield & Wrexham 75/76 There's a few just to kick off with. We really were seriously shee-ite in those days. One game around that time stands out for me was the 3-0 defeat at home to Fulham, it was just before Christmas and it was absolutely freezing, attendance was only around 7,000. It might have been Dooley's last game in charge.
owlZfan84
Failing to beat 9 men Yeovil was also pretty horrendous. Cheers Alan. Again.
mcmigo
The 0 0 vs Grimsby under turner remains the only game my wife has ever seen us play live. Needless to say her very limited enthusiasm for football and the Owls was totally gone after those 90 minutes, and she has never wanted to go since. lanzaroteowl
worst for me was a 0-0 draw on a freezing night at halifax 1975-76 ......i seen some crap over the years but nothing caps this game ......another standout is a 3-0 at man utd under wilson no shame in losing to them but we just laid down and surrendered that day. That Halifax match was my first proper away game(discounting the Sty) amazed that I ever went to another. Good job an away day wasn't just about the football! Eastern
Another game that still lives in my memory from that season: Plymouth absolutely dismantled us in every single regard during that game. It was like a school team playing against Barcelona. Can't believe we managed to get a goal. I was at that game. The Kop was chanting Kuqi all night (on loan at Ipswich)

We really were seriously shee-ite in those days. I went to the Boro and York games. The Boro game I think we were only two down at half time and actually to that point we hadn't played too bad. My mate said then that if we got an early goal we might still win....he was more of a bloody dreamer than I was! Suffice to say it was they that got the early goal and after that it was one long flipping embarrassment. And the second time that season we'd conceded eight! The York game was the infamous "Save Our Owls" match when The Star were giving out these stupid stickers as we were bottom of Division Two. We all wanted to save the club....except the fookers out there on the pitch. We were totally outplayed.
matthefish2002
I was at the 0-0 draws to Rusden & Diamonds and Grimsby, The 3-1 home loss to Plymouth, The 2-2 to Yeovil and have to say the recent Reading match was just as bad, worse in fact if you factor in the current ticket prices and how much the team costs. These were poor but I'm surprised no one's mentioned the 0-0 draw at Notts County around this time, fantastic weather at easter, we took around 4,000 supporters but the match was terrible, I don't think either team had a proper attempt on goal. Pretty sure it was Brian Barry-Murphys debut, and he was so nervous i dont think he found a teammate with a pass all night. Then there was the joy of watching Kim Olsen. Like a wheelie bin that someone had drawn eyes on. Don't think it was Barry-Murphys debut. Sure we had him late on in the season before that... The fact that we had six natural defenders out on the pitch says everything. BBM was more of a left back than anything, Adam Chambers has played centre half most of his career I believe. Haslam never a midfielder either so roger know what formation we had out that night....
