What then? We've released our squad numbers the day before and no mention of Vermijl- everyone assumes he's leaving, then he's just left without a squad number. You're then left in the position where you just quietly give him a shirt number and everyone knows he was trying to be outed- just looks unprofessional. Not saying you're wrong at all, but I think it's wrong to assume that just because we've given him a shirt number that it means he isn't going to be leaving- would be incredibly embarrassing and unprofessional to treat him anything other than a registered first team player until he walks out the door... and that includes giving him a shirt to wear. Numbers fairly irrelevant today. Hunt given 32 because he asked for it. Lees, Lopez, Wallace all likely to start but none of these are your 'important numbers'.
