Nath83
Just found this on Twitter, suggesting that David Hurst's goal vs Villa in 91 was the most perfect goal... Phil McNulty (@philmcnulty) tweeted at 10:34 am on Sat, May 23, 2015: What makes the perfect goal? One that ends up in the back of the net? @tomfordyce takes a look. David Hirst optional. http://t.co/Dsb3SJ6Yyv (https://twitter.com/philmcnulty/status/602044993365274624?s=03)
Guest Distraught!
There is not much excuse for spelling the great one's name incorrectly when it is correct in the Tweet that you are referring to.

Weshallovercome
Is Tom Fordyce a Wednesdayite then?David Hirst, Sheffield Wednesday v Aston Villa, August 1991: It meets so many criteria: a solo effort, out of nothing; a piece of skill most of us could only dream of; camera behind the ball to see its swerving path, celebrating crowd behind; goalkeeper Nigel Spink left waving it past. The context? First few minutes of the first game of the season, against a manager (Ron Atkinson) who had just abandoned the Owls for Villa. Wednesday would go on to lose the match 3-2 having led 2-0. But that's Wednesday for you. The last 5 words seem to suggest he might be.

Guest Fedor
Hirsts was a much better goal than Harkes. You don't see many scored like that. Although Hirsty scored a similar one away at Newcastle.
Paolo Coopio
Id say Humphreys goal against the same opposition a few years later ranks up there too. So many good goals - Hirst against Man City in about 92. not about the power, but beating his man (Vonk I believe), running half the pitch and rolling it against both posts. + any goal against them blades

In off the angle of bar n post, didn't Dean Barrick get the other from around 30 yards? Dinny Walson's goal was a good finish too . Guest Distraught!
I also high rate the Varadi individual effort against Forest (1st game back in the First Division, IIRC).
