The new, new advisor!

Recommended Posts

Sheffield Wednesday are delighted to announce the appointment of Jonathan Hill as an advisor to the chairman, Dejphon Chansiri.

Hill joins the Sporting Director committee recently established at Hillsborough comprising fellow advisors Glenn Roeder, Paul Senior and head coach Stuart Gray.

Bringing a wealth of football experience to the Owls, Hill can draw on a near two decades of coaching in the game.

Starting out with Wigan Athletic as assistant academy director, Hill graduated to Premier League giants Manchester United as academy youth coach, spending nine successful years at Old Trafford.

He played a key role in developing the likes of international stars Tom Cleverley, Jonny Evans and Danny Welbeck amongst many others at the renowned United academy.

Hill then moved on to the international stage himself, becoming youth technical director for the Jordan Football Association and led the Under-18s to the AFC Finals for the first time in the country’s history.

He returned to England and the blue side of Manchester as academy youth coach with the Premier League champions before heading back across Europe as first team coach at Norwegian top-flight side Tromso FC, who qualified for the group stages of the Europa League under his guidance.

The Premier League beckoned again next, where Hill was appointed first team coach at Fulham, working alongside manager and long-time associate Rene Meulensteen.

Sheffield Wednesday chairman Dejphon Chansiri said: “I am delighted to welcome Jonathan to the club.

“It can never be understated just how important it is that we introduce experienced industry professionals to supplement the innovation of our Sporting Director committee.

“Jonathan has an exceptionally strong skill-set and will undoubtedly enhance the core area of Sheffield Wednesday, which is the football infrastructure.â€

Strange choice. Not doubting his coaching credentials. I was just expecting a like-for-like replacement for Pearson. i.e. more to do with the business side of things.

Welcome to Hillsborough Mr Hill.

The appointment is nothing to do with replacing Adam Pearson. Mr C said the committee would grow and he will replace Pearson once a suitable candidate is identified.

Exactly this ^^^^^, DC is the best thing to happen to Wednesday for donkeys.

Losing Person to DC will just be a blip, and he won't lose any sleep over it.

I reckon this "committee" is still not complete and others, will be added in time,

Sheffield Wednesday for once are being run properly.

With the way Mr C operates it would not surprise me if he were to announce 6 player signings all at once out of the blue.
