Championship Season 15/16, building a squad for promotion. Rumours.

I look 'boro, Bournemouth, watford, Brentford and see teams without big names. Teams built without spending stupid amounts but have undoubted quality. The ability to put a team together thats got quality and strength in all areas and gels immediately is key, not how much we spend.

HMSPTL prepares to set sail yet again!!! lol

She's currently in dry dock getting a refit. Nuclear reactor fitted. Plasma cannons added. Still waiting on the warp drives but should be installed in June and the desso carpets done soon.

Rumours nuhui will be used as the anchor are unconfirmed

As long as Nuhiu & May aren't at the helm when we leave the harbour, they'll keep hitting the harbour walls & we'll never get out into the open seas.

Let's be fair, nobody actually knows what our spending budget is going to be like this Summer.

Our first couple of signings will give us a good indication.

I would suggest that looking at the likes of Comolli for DOF is a pretty good indication.

Comoli did say he is asked to find players 4 different levels ,Probably proven (Expensive) Premier class,Promising  players 20-22 yr olds lower division who look ready to step up a level.Foreign players who you can make a profit on when sold.and free signings but good squad players.Melo looks very promising .FFP will have a lot to say on what we sign.Waddle knows a lot on french football ,We need people like him scouting .

Just in general terms, we're in a decent place now. The squad is nothing fantastic, but it's solid and for the first time in years, it's ours. We're not relying on loans just to get us by. There's actual value in the squad. Several players we could command a half decent fee for, either now or in the future.

Bags of potential in the likes of Palmer, Vermijl, Helan, Dielna, Hutchinson, May, Lavery. All with their best years ahead of them. Maguire and Lee if they sign new contracts. Solid championship performers at good ages. Semedo has become a solid player at this level. Bus and Melo are both tied down to long term contracts and have both shown glimpses of quality.

All that on top of an extremely competent back 3 in Westwood, Lees and Loovens (2 of whom are worth a fair bit), and the foundation is there. There's enough value in that lot to justify a bit of a gamble.

Possibly add Zayatte and Mattock to that list, and that's a 17 man core of a squad. Personally I wouldn't bat an eyelid if we got rid of any of the rest. Then fill the squad out with players in the class of McGugan. Whether that's by spending 1or 2 mill, or poaching freebies like Lees and Westeood, or picking up unknowns from abroad, it doesn't really matter. That's probably all it is going to take to turn us into a top 6 challenging side. Hopefully our scouts are out now earning their money.
