For me, and correct me if the list below is wrong or incomplete. Kirkland - Offer 1 Year deal - though I think he will leave Buxton - Release, been a great servant and a good player - but too many injuries for me. Mattock - Offer 1 year deal, but hope we bring in better in the summer. Loovens - Offer 2 year deal Semedo - Offer 1 year deal, though we need better to compete for the top 6 Maguire - Release - not good enough Coke - Release, League 1 at best McCabe - Release, a right waste of a wage Madine - Release, get him as far away from S6 as we can Zayette - Offer 1 year deal as back up Maghoma - Release, League 2 standard and workrate Lee - Offer 2 year deal as a squad player Corry - Release, another waste of a shirt Floro - Release, 2 years and not anywhere near the 1st team still Kelhar - Release, injured since he arrived Not sure If I missed anyone? matthefish2002 Posted April 16, 2015 Share Posted April 16, 2015 To be frank the only person on that list I would offer a contact to is Kieran Lee then would not make a great effort to keep him if he was pushing for a really good pay. Semedo, Buxton and Loovens all decent players if fit but not fit enough for me. Loovens was injury prone when we got him so no surprise he is injured again and too much of a risk. Then we have the likes of Kirkland, Buxton, Mattock, Maguire, Lee and Zayatte who are all solid Championship players and can be called on as injuries and suspensions start to bite. One thing we've seen this season is that our squad is paper thin, so having the likes of Maguire as back up rather than part of our starting 11 will be progress in itself. I'd definitely expect Coke, McCabe, Madine, Maghoma, Corry and Floro to leave this summer, but I wouldn't be overly surprised if Kelhar is kept on as a back up option. The four I would keep is due to experiance and current ability. Kelhar is a funny one, Gray must have seen something in him to offer him an extended deal. Now we have money I would be tempted to offer him something like £1500/£2000 deal with a bigger bonus attached if he makes the match day squad and if he gets on. I can not see him demanding a lare wage from any other club due to been injured all season and Wednesday as a club have history in making mistake and letting people go for next to nothing. Maguire - Its a shame, he is not the standard we expect and he did demand a fee £300,000 I am lead to belive. Cut our losses, he will be on a decent wage too. McCabe- Shame about this lad, big hopes for him and started bright but never progressed. There is a reason why when he went on loan to Pompey he could not get in their starting 11. Madine - Really gutted about him, so much potential after firing us up to the championship, obv off field issue have not helped but I feel he has not had a fair crack at it, I also believe given the same playing time as Nuhiu he would have scored just as many if not more than him. BUT saying all that, time to move on. Either way it leaves us with another rebuild job in summer. Keepers - sorted for, free up Kirkland wages and promote one of the younger lads. Defence - need a left back, possibly 2 centre backs. Helan as second choice and sign a new first choice LB. Loovens - 2 year deal. Semedo - 2 years. Semedo may be technically limited, but players with his passion are vital for any team. Also plays in a position where we will struggle for injuries and suspensions (hutch/melo) Maguire - He has a good shot on him, but his link up play is just not good enough. The only way he can continue at the club is if he moves to striker. And that would be a big risk as he is obviously unproven at this level in that position, and we probably already have as good in Lavery, May, Bush. Basically, he should be released. Coke - Release. McCabe - Release. Gray obviously doesn't rate him. Madine - Release, he'll go to blackpool and get twenty in the 3rd division. Zayatte - Down to the medical staff, as he has had a few injuries, but I would offer him 2 years if he looks like being fit. He has played a vital part in our defensive successes this season. Maghoma - We need far better. Never been a winger. Release. Lee - Offer 3 year deal. Corry - Release. Floro - Down to Bullen, but probably release. Kelhar - release and sign a younger 4th choice CB, unless De Haviland can step up. Must be challenging for a starting place. With Zayatte and Loovens having injury problems, could see game time at vital periods in the season. The long and short of it is, the defence has done well this season and we should try and hang on to the regular starters, but improve our options as well. LB and RB i think we need better options. CB we're ok. The attackers have been lacking and we need wholesale changes to get anywhere this season. Lee the only attacker with his contract coming up to stay. Coke - Release, served the club reasonably well but times have changed. McCabe - Release, just never lived up to expectations. Madine - Release, too much baggage. Zayatte - Offer 1 year deal. Maghoma - Release, we can do a LOT better. Lee - Offer 2 year deal. Corry - Release, a punt that didn't work. Floro - Release, hasn't developed but we haven't lost out. Stuff next summer, we'll be seeing big signings this summer. I have it on high authority that Att is building our squad on FIFA as we speak. He'll then show his ideal team to his Dad and bobs yer uncle we have ourselves a squad. Att's favourite player is only Will Keane though. I wish he liked McGugan more.... Mattock gets a contract on that basis along with Zayatte. It's our limp strike force and lack creativity from wide that's been our downfall, The records speak for themselves.
