20 goal a season strikers

Recommended Posts

If you look at the scrutters from down the road the only times they have done well we're when they had James Beattie and Ched Bundy, soon as they lost those players they were useless.

It just goes to show that a 20+ goals a season is vital.

I do believe May could be that mam now he has had a season to settle in.

In a good season in the Championship, there will be about 5 20+ goal strikers.

Last season ;

Ross McCormack

Leeds United

28

Jordan Rhodes

Blackburn Rovers

25

Troy Deeney

Watford

24

Lewis Grabban

AFC Bournemouth

22

Danny Ings

Burnley

21

Chris Martin

Derby County

20

Dave Nugent

Leicester City

20

Sam Vokes

Burnley

20

It's no surprise that the top clubs are the ones with the 20 goal strikers, but they've got them because they can afford it.

Who of those could we afford, and would we have the ammunition to supply them? 20 goal strikers don't often come as half season loans, and less often to teams who do t create mountains of opportunities.

It takes more than a striker to get a 20 goal striker.

Value of these players?

e.g. McCormack showed class against us at Craven Cottage that is what £11m can do.

In my eyes, if we are in championship next season, then May will definately be close to 20.

I'll go out on a limb here.

He's not shown that promise so far, arguably glimpses.

Maybe May needs a higher calibre of striking partner and supply from midfield. Or maybe St.Johnstone had a purple patch in a very different level of football competition. Dare I say it, the team set up doesn't suit him. He has had over half a season at this level.

He is young but then again so was Madine in league 1 but look what has happened there?

I love May, I genuinely think he has quality but for some reason it just isn't working for him here. Hopefully he can turn it around, but I honesty expect him to leave for half a mil or so in a season or two back to Scotland.

It's interesting to note that on the two occasions since leaving the top flight that we've had anyone score more than 15 in the league, we've been promoted!

Ahhh a stroll down memory lane.

It's really been poo poo.

Fuuuucking hell he really wasn't 'class' was he? Few pens and tap ins against shower opposition. Really has got to stop this imaginary talent people associate with him based out of thin air

Gary Lineker's career was based on tap ins and penlties. It's strker's instinct. The ability to go undetected into an area where goals are almost certain.
