Apparently he was in bed on the Sunday morning when Alex ferguson rang and asked him to call him back when he had time to think about an offer to play for Man Utd. When Hirsty's dad asked who had been on the phone David said "Alex Ferguson" but he didn't expect the reply he got from his dad ....... "Alex Ferguson? .....Tha not good enough to play for Man Utd!"
